A friend of mine took me there in July for lunch. The price was reasonable with decent size portions. In other words, we didn't pay a lot and didn't feel like gluttons. The mojitos were the best part, so much so that I went back there just for it.
Pros: Attentive staff and great drinks
Cons: Not very spacious

Went here with a group of 5 on a Monday night. The place was not that busy but the waiter seemed totally overwhelmed. Took 20 min to take our order then had no water or utensils at three of the place settings. When the food came out we asked the waiter for utensils and he proceded to settle the bill at another table and take the order of the table next to us. All while we are sitting there unable to eat! I have never seen anything like this. The food was average and the margaritas were overloaded with salt so we had to send them back. Would not recommend this place.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: bad service

Went there last night with a group of 9 people to celebrate my friends birthday. They've been there before and enjoyed the food so one of my friend suggested the place again. We were seated pretty quickly and the staff was very nice. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria which was pretty good but too much on the fruity side and not much on the alcohol. We had empanada, calamari, and corn on the cob as appetizers. The cubano empanada tasted like hot pockets. The calamari was very ordinary. The corn on the cob was just regular without the cheese and cuban spices. My friend said the corn was not as great as the other time he had it. The waiter was very good except the fact that he asked us if we wanted to refill the sangria like 3 times. I felt like he was trying to ring our bill higher. For our main dishes, we had seafood paella, oxtail stew, seafood stew, ribs, pork chops, and sandwiches. The seafood paella was a bit mushy and salty. The seafood stew was a little too sweet, sour and the shrimp was way overcooked. The oxtail stew was very tasty but the sauce is very heavy. The pork chops tasted like a bottle of ketchup was poured over it. Towards the end when we recieved our bill, I had a $25 gift certificate from Restaurant dot com that we wanted to apply towards our bill. The waiter took the gift certificate and headed towards the back. My girlfriend noticed and told me he was showing the gift certificate to everyone in the back. I felt that it was very unprofessional to do that in front of your customers. Overall I wouldn't come back again because of the price and the incident towards the end.
Pros: Parking after 6pm on weekdays
Cons: Food, price, unprofessional staff

After hearing good reviews about the restaurant I decided to go check it out with my boyfriend. After we arrived, we were seated at a table. The waiter who took our order was nice. My boyfriend ordered a mojito which he refused to drink because it tasted nothing like a mojito, it tasted like bitter Sprite. I ordered a salad and when it arrived I had a whole bag of lettuce in front of me and 2 grilled shrimp. He ordered a paella with seafood which looked liked oatmeal, thats how mushy it was. My sald did not even come with dressing, so I was eating dry leaves. His paella tasted like rice with ketchup and the seafood was so rubber. Seemed that it was taken out of the freezer and thrown in. Our bill came out to be about $70. So not worth it!!! We were so dissappointed. And through out our whole dinner we had little fruit flies flying over our heads while we ate. I think we spent more time swatting them out of our faces than trying to enjoy our meal.
Pros: The wait staff was nice
Cons: Food, Prices

cafe con leche - very average. it wasn't hot the way it should be.
dessert - tres de leches, seemed like it came out of a freezer, didn't taste fresh at all.
Pros: mojito, fun place, cute waiters.
Cons: food is average, dessert and coffee isn't great.

Ricky Ricardo would feel right at home at this little slice of Cuba, with a clientle that is reassuringly at least half Latino at any given time. While small, it's more frenetic than cosy, but comfortable enough and the food has refreshing authenticity. Staff is well-meaning and well-informed. And if there are any service glitches, they're easy enough to forgive with the modest prices. Word is another larger Havan Central is destined for Times Square area.
Pros: Inexpensive, Large portions, Friendly service

The food was delicious, from ropa vieja (shredded beef) to camarones al ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce). The drink options are also great, with lots of wine varieties of sangria and mojitos. We were seated immediately despite the Friday night rush, and our waitress was very attentive. The atmoshphere is really fun, with great Cuban music.
Pros: food, drinks, service, great music
Cons: limited seating, no reservations

It was the second time I'd been there, and I'd had another bad experience with the staff. This time the food was served lukewarm, and then when we were done, the waiter asked us if we were leaving yet because he wanted to use the table (he also moved the couple sitting next to us to another table so he could use their table).
Pros: okay food, good happy hour
Cons: bad service, loud
