We ate here last week and really enjoyed everything. Service was great; we never had to ask for anything, as the waiter and busboy were on top of evertyhing. The food was delicious; the waiter recommended the puffed rice crusted shrimp roll, which sounds weird but was great. He also recommended short ribs, which came already boned, so it was a cube of rich, dense meat which had been pan seared; and the chicken dumplings, which was pulled chicken meat in a wonton wrapper, steamed, with a sour soy sauce called Ponzu. All very good. The entrees were outstanding: a grilled red snapper with curry sauce and string beans, and my friend ordered duck breast, which came with dumplings whose skin was made from tapioca pearls! Interesting and unique. For dessert, we shared the signature dessert, green tea donuts. One thing, don't be scared by the menu. The chef is able to take odd sounding combinations and make them delicious. I've eaten in lots of hotel restaurants, and they're usually pretty mediocre, so Riingo was a wonderful surprise! Plus, everybody was very friendly, from the manager who stopped by to chat briefly with us, to the host, who remembered us on our way out. I highly recommend Riingo! The only down part is the bathrooms; they're unmarked and kind of hidden, so it was a little embarrassing to have to be led to them. But thats a small quibble!!
Pros: food, service
Cons: bathrooms difficult to find

Where do I begin?
Service was great, very attentive without being over-bearing. The waiters are super-polite and helpful. The ambience is very nice and romantic. I would recommend reservations because this place does get filled up quickly. The food was, well small, especailly for the price. But once you bite into it, you're willing to fork over twice as much. Fresh and delicious! The seafood pasta was done just right without being smothered in sauce, the mussels were some of the best I have ever tasted, and you can't beat the giant wheel of cheese that your pasta arrives in.
I wish I could eat here every day of the week beause I doubt I'll get tired of it.
Pros: Food, Service, Ambience

Visited this sushi house many times for many different occasions--birthday party, meeting friends after work, and even a bachelorette party. Each time the sushi was fresh and the atmosphere was cool...great time!

I am a sushi connoisseur and let me tell you, this sushi restaurant is absolutely the best sushi I have had. Ever. Okay, I may not be a connoisseur, but I know my sushi pretty well. I know I don't like huge pieces slapped on the rice, I can tell whether it has salty flavor or if its just plain bland, and I know the prime fish of the season. (If you know your sushi too, you know what I am talking about) Sushi Seki's sushi is always fresh and incredible. You should definitely get the omakase (in case you don't know what that is- it's the chef's choice of fish in the order of most fresh to least, and best tasting followed by something that will compliment that etc.) The pieces are creative instead of regular sushi (which you can also get and will taste great). The omakase includes:
salmon with tomato
yellowtail with jalapeno
spicy scallop hand roll
tuna with tofu sauce
I'm drawring a blank now but those are just some of my favorites. The staff is very polite and accommodating and the chefs are great too. Not the most talkative, but they're usually pretty busy.
It's rather expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Oh, and it's more of a traditional Japanese atmosphere as opposed to a chic, modern bar for those of you who are taking dates. :) I happen to like that better, but I can not speak for everyone.
Do Enjoy!
Pros: The best sushi you can pay for
Cons: none

I'm a sushi fanatic and I've been to virtually every sushi restaurant in New York. Sumile is hands down the best in the city. The owner takes great pride in serving only the freshest fish and in all the dozens of times I've eaten here, I've never had a piece of sushi that was even mediocre. Every piece of fish is the highest quality. Not only is the fresh fish amazing, but the cooked food is also delicious. Try the miso cod and you'll dream about it! There's also a large selection of sake. When you leave Sumile, not only will you have had an incredible meal but you will be thrilled because you won't have spent a fortune. Can't beat it!

Cons: None

I love the sushi rolls here, the appetizers are great, and it's not pretentious. I go all the time. The service is always so friendly and it's nice to sit outside when the weather is good. The prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting. I've eaten at many high-end, highly-rated sushi places and Suteishi has now become the standard I compare them with....it's still my favorite!
Pros: Great food, great service, never crowded
Cons: I wish they had a lunch deal
