Making a reservation at this restaurant was almost as hard as trying to score Bruce Springsteen concert tickets. I called exactly one (1) month before the day of my wife's birthday (when their reservation lines opened) and got a busy signal for almost half an hour.
On the night of our dinner we were glad we weren't late. The lower level dining room was packed. I felt bad for those who were seated there because people waiting to be seated were almost standing on top of them. The upper level where we sat was beautiful tthough small.
The food and wine were excellent. The thing that amazed my wife and I the most was the service. I have never in my life seen a more attentive staff. We never had to ask for refills on water or wine, our questions were politely answered and our food was brought on time. To my surprise the bill wasn't as much as I had expected. We made sure the tip reflected the service. This is by far the best restaurant we have ever been to.
Pros: Excellent Service
Cons: Reservations hard to place

By far the best pizza anywhere. When in NY I want to eat there everyday. Their Original is a marguerita (sp?) pizza that is STOOPID GOOD. You will like it. The wait can be long but worth it.
Pros: Their Original Pizza, Ambiance, History, Neighborhood
Cons: Not Any

This is my favorite restaurant in NYC - the prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, the waiters and waitresses are always helpful with choosing items. You must get the cheese plates and the veggies as appetizers. Huge wine list! This place is great for people with food allergies as well - the servers are very knowledgable, and they will make any of their pastas dishes gluten free! I have had two large group dinners here (25 people once, 10 another time) and both were done very well. My only cons would be that sometimes there is a long wait for tables and I wish they had a little bit more variety on the menu - but for the price you pay, this place is top notch.
Pros: Delicious food, huge wine list, helpful servers
Cons: sometimes long waits, menu a bit limited

My husband and I have been dining at Three of Cups for years and have always had a great meal. There are a variety of great Italian meals to choose from. The soups, salads, pizzas, pastas, and entrees are all incredible. If you want a great meatball then you must visit! The owners always come around to greet you and the staff is very friendly. Linguine and white clam sauce, cesaer salad, risotto specials, etc... are all delicious!!!! Dining here is a must!!!!!!!
Pros: Good food, good service, always accomodating
Cons: none

Exquisite, original, complex yet not-too-complex Italian that pleases all the senses and finds undiscovered ones to seduce. The Cappuccino of Chestnuts, Wild Pheasant, and Chanterelle appetizer was too good to leave a drop on the dish. The lasagna, unlike any lasagna I have ever tasted, is absurdly -- not to say obscenely! -- delicious. The veal, ultra-tender venison, and desserts are all really, truly exceptional. Don't miss this experience. Unmatched.
Pros: Everything, really
Cons: None

I have been a long time diner at Apizz. The food is consistently hearty and delicious. I would recommend the Gnocchi and the Lasagna. I was not impressed with the Octopus Salad, so I would stick with the pizza to start or even just the fresh crusty bread they bring to the table. They have a healthy wine list to boot. I would highly recommend trying this little LES spot.

On a Sunday evening my friend and I spontaneously met up on SoHo to grab a bite to eat. I have been wanting to go to Lupa but have had a hard time getting a reservation on a days notice. On a whim we decided to try...the place was packed, but luck was on our side as the hostess was able to seat us right away at a table that was just cleared. Another women checked our coats and bags, she was so cheerful and friendly. We really felt that we were appreciated for our business. The meal was fantastic and our waitress was kind and friendly, not overbearing. The atmosphere was lovely and it was one of those truly enjoyable dining experiences. The coat check lady came to us with our coats, no prompting necessary. Great atmosphere, fantastic food, and exception service!
Pros: service was excellent
Cons: can be hard to get a reservation

I don't usually write reviews, but I have to tell you Gonzo is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. You can always count on them for a great meal. Their pizzas are amazing. So thin and crispy because they're cooked on a grill. And you can't go wrong with their pasta, especially the papperdelle with veal ragu. The other thing I really like about this place is that the menu appeals to everyone, not like some restaurants with menus so limited you might find one thing you like. I can take anyone here and know they're going to find something they like. In these tough economic times, I don't want to waste time or money going somewhere I'm inevitably disappointed. I know if I'm dining at Gonzo, I'm going home happy. This is why Gonzo has been around for over six years and has definately become my LOCAL.
Pros: Always consistently good
Cons: None
