The food was very, very good...try the planks...you won't be disappointed... Great atmosphere, great music at the perfect volume, caring staff...I went there last month for the first time and have been back 3 times since. Absolutely rocks.

Delicately designed in a rustic Tuscan Italian look and feel, with a very eclectic wine and beer selection and a pizza to die for. The charming owners have recipes on the menu that make you feel like you are eating a home cooked meal. The tables, lighting and bar are cozy. The music is carefully selected with some old and some new which reflects the wine bar's style. I really loved it and it's a place I would return often. It's a great date place or even a night with friends. Pros: Wine Selection, Pizza, Decor Cons: Can get crowded

I went with a group of girl friends to Sofia's after work last night, and we all loved it. First and foremost, the wine selection was great: we tried several, and all were tasty and reasonably priced (many glasses around $9-10 and many bottles from around the world between $35-$40). Second, the menu is small, but has something for everyone (soups, pasta, cheese plates, and pizzas) and since us four girls shared all three pizza options, I can honestly say that they are all phenomenal! But most importantly, the staff were all wonderful, from the handsome and charming father-son team of owners, to the attentive and knowledgeable waiters. This place is a great find, perfect for dinner with the girls or a low-key date-night. (Just a quick note: two of the girls almost walked by the place, assuming it was an apartment. But though the sign on the awning is hard to see, this place is definitely worth looking for!) Pros: Best wine selection ever, great food, wonderful service. Cons: While everything on the menu is phenomenal, there aren't many choices there, though they have only been open for a short while, so perhaps that will change?

I never take the time to write reviews, but this place is an amazing find. Stumbled upon Sofia Wine Bar on its opening night last Friday and am SO glad I did! The wine list is extensive, the ambiance calming and cozy, and the staff is kind and attentive (without being in your face and annoying). I already know that I will frequently be paying a visit to Sofia, both for an after work glass of wine, as well as for full evenings out with my girlfriends. We tried a variety of wines by the glass and every one was excellent - The Snake Charmer is the one I recall loving the most. They weren't officially serving food yet on Friday, but the small plates that they brought out on the house were incredibly tasty -- italian meats and cheeses, bruschetta, eggplant...all were wonderful The veggies tasted as if they were fresh from the garden, and each dish tasted homemade. Since my first trip was so great, I went back last night and was able to try the personal pizza and the paninis -- TO. DIE. FOR!!! Also incredible - the spinach dip, which absolutely rivals Houston's for the 'Best Spinach Dip' title. This is definitely a great date place or a venue for a nice evening out chatting with friends. Can't wait to go back! Pros: Cozy and comfy place. Not pretentious at all. Great food, wine, staff and ambiance. Cons: none.
