I am very happy with the restaurant's staff and the food they serve. The staff are friendly and good service. The food is simply awesome. The price of the food is good with that kind of delicious dishes and excellent service. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and new people in town. I would definitely bring my friends here again and again.
Pros: Good service, friendly staff, good food

For months I've been searching for even an adequate Indian spot in midtown to quench my oft-overwhelming lunchtime paneer pangs and finally I found it at Yatra. I had the Malai Kofta which was a new one for me but surprisingly flavorful and the portions were quite sufficient. The naan was a tad flaky and thin and for some reason was rather greasy on the surface but had a nice flavor and was crispy and fresh. My coworker said it was even better than the Indian meal he had had in London that was frequently raved about.
My veg entree with naan came out to about 12 bucks before tax and tip but again, the portions are more than enough. The buffet is 9.95 and actually looked like it was probably a safe bet as there was a large variety of dishes as well as a fruit salad and some sort of soup. I couldn't tell if the naan was included.
The room was nice enough though very sparse but for lunch, who cares. The service was fine but we could've used napkins (I eat Indian by scooping with the naan). All in all, quality Indian in an area of New York where the only alternatives are the bland, mild Indian diners. I'll be going back to try the buffet and this will probably be a regular in my lunch rotation. Go!
Pros: Quality food! Cheap, Large Buffet.
Cons: Not much atmosphere

Hi, Vatan is one of the best resturants I have ever been to. The food was awesome, its just like having dinner in gujrat. I have been to BARODA and I know what Indian food tastes like. The staffs and the servers were very welcoming and they took care of me and my friends very well. I completely disagree with the previous negative review. I think there must have been a misunderstanding. I wish VATAN best of luck and hope it carrys on spreading Indian tradition.

A meal at Utsav Festive Indian Restaurant is definitely worth the price. I only come here on special occasions, because it is pricey but the food is the best and i love spiciness of the dishes, trust me it is sooo spicy. The wait staff is attentive and efficient. It is definitely a place to check out.

Tiffin is extremely delicious and affordable! Amazing lunch buffet (I think about $7.50)
I love a bunch of Indian restaurants in that area, but after a while I found myself going to Madras Mahal for the yummy food and going to Chennai Garden for their much better badam halwa for desert. When I went to Tiffin Wallah for the first time I got to have amazing food+ amazing desert under one roof! No more having to go restaurant hopping to have the best Indian meal!
Pros: Delicious all the time+ cheap+ great lunch Buffet
Cons: the lassi's here are too sweet

The food is literally addicting - and the price and service are perfect. If you are reading this - I highly recommend you go try it - you will be thrilled. Truly do not understand even one bad review. Of all the Indian restaurants - this is the absolute best. No argument. Chowhound agrees!!!

Eclectic, inspired food. Great desserts. Family oriented with a wide ranging menu. Still like the food, but can't stand the staff. Poor service, but keep going back for specific dishes that you can't find any place else.
