We used to go to this location a lot, but the service was horrid so we stopped going. A friend recently told me it's under new ownerwship so my fiance and I decided to give it another try and were pleasantly surprised! The new owners were extremely friendly and made my ice cream just the way I wanted!! We will definitely be making this location our regular ice-cream-fix spot again!!

I went to the 2nd Ave location 3 times & won't go back. The staff, while pleasant, is shockingly inept. I'm not that demanding a guy but c'mon, a chocolate milkshake contains milk, ice cream & syrup. Instead I got ice cream with a little milk which was barely blended making it a cup of bland chocolate ice cream. The next 2 times I witnessed them screwing up every order of every other patron so I just got scooped ice cream as this seems to be all the staff is capable of. Both times I had ice cream that was merely so-so & the ice crystals in one serving proved the product was not fresh. Any ice cream that you buy at a supermarket is superior to Cold Stone. If you're in the East Village & want ice cream either keep walking a few blocks to Ben & Jerrys or check out that new place on 10th St near 2nd Ave (forgot the name) or flag down a Mr Softee truck or just walk in a deli & get a Good Humor bar. Any of these options is better than wasting money at Cold Stone Pros: none Cons: service, old ice cream, too expensive

You pick your ice cream flavor, toppings, mix-ins, etc. and your server works it all into a big glob for you to enjoy. Give them a tip and they sing (better yet don't give them the tip so they don't sing).
