Hello! I just did a search for Fishs Eddie and found their website. The prices are not as unbelievable as mentioned in the first review. $3 - $4 for a knife. A plate costs around $22. This site does have real cool stuff that I have never seen before, which to me is wonderful, but the prices are not so hot! Does the store possibly have much better deals than their site?

You have to eat and drink, right? And you don't eat boring food do you? So why eat and drink from boring plates, cups and glasses? Enter Fishes Eddy. Originally, I shopped here for old diner cups and plates - especially loved the ones with the long-forgotten names of closed eateries. Now I go back to see what kind of cool stuff they have that I can add to my "collection".
For instance, I just bought a metal airline knife and a metal coffee pot - the prices were stupidly cheap. Back when the Palace Hotel closed, I bought a Leona H. Palace tea pot (complete with gold leaf details) - again stupidly cheap.
All of our daily glasses are from Fishes Eddy too along with a lot of our heavy duty mugs.
This is a fun, NY institution. Go, have fun, and eat from something cool and fun.

There are a lot of reasons to love Fishs Eddie, from the colorful cafeware they sell, to the hard to find, odd antique plates. I even have a complete set of utensils from the old Pan Am planes that I got there. But maybe the best reason to love Fishs eddy is that they sell a plate series that has all the landmark buildings of New York on it. It's cute, it's cartoony, and they have decided to keep the World Trade Center on it. For those of us who are life-long New Yorkers, it's a gesture that matters.

Are you a diner kind of a gal? Country club boy? Outfit your kitchen & sideboard with items from diners, clubs, even airlines. Fishs Eddy has glasses, silverwares, dishes & serving pieces from a wide variety of places (from vintage special to mass produced kitsch). Some favorites of mine are the new Cynthia Rowley "dirty dishes", Heroes of the Torah glasses and diner sugar servers. The Pantone plates are also pretty sweet.
Even if you have a set up kitchen, pop in for an eclectic serving piece or fun cutlery.
