Located right in Columbus Circle, this hotel ends up being close to everything.
Just off the southwest corner of Central Park, and right near Lincoln Center, location is everything to this part of town. easy transportation to anywhere you want to get to.
The rooms are a bit small, but you can find great deals if you book far enough in advance. Who wants to spend the whole trip to NY in a hotel anyway?

This has got to be the best hotel I have ever been in. I was luckily enough to have had an all expense paid one night stay here. There’s no other hotel that remotely compares to this place, or I should say, no hotel that I’ve stayed in. Let me start off by telling you how beautiful and grand the lobby is. I wish I could post up pictures because I have no words that can describe it. Let’s skip up to the room. The rooms… you know what, I can’t do this. I think you should check it out for yourself. Here’s their web address www.tribecagrand.com I must say that this place is very expensive.
Their hotel staff is very friendly and prompt.

This hotel was newly remodeled in 2000...all the decor is very modern with hues of brown/beige. The rooms are small but that is to be expected in NY. At least you have a private bathroom...which some hotels don't even offer. The bathroom is really nice, done in marble...the decor is excellent, very clean. There is TV, air conditioning....like visiting a friend's small studio. Didn't get the feeling of a hotel which I liked. Also a plus is that there is plenty of FREE parking alongside Central Park right outside!! Plus the subway station is a block a way!! I used Sidestep to book this for $85/night which is cheap for NY.
Pros: cheap, location, Free parking

I just went crazy over the decor of this hotel. This has to be the most entertaining place Ive stayed since I started my little tour of the east coast. Its very well priced and surprisingly comfortable. From what I understand, they just made lots of renovation, so this is basically a brand new hotel. I didnt know this, but Madonna used to live there. They even turned her room into theme room that you can actually stay in. Maybe next time!
Anyways, if you are looking for a comfortable and fun hotel at a great price you have to check into this place. Literally!

Don't be confused when you walk in – the lobby is on the second floor. There is a nice bar on that same level. Rooms vary – some are beautifully large (almost like mini suites), while others are like any average hotel room. The decor is modern, but still comfortable. There is not much more than the rooms, but you are right in the center of Times Square. Check rates online in order to prevent feeling ripped off.

Hotels in NYC are outrageously expensive, but as hotels go, this one is quite nice mainly because it is right in the heart of midtown where you can usually find mega skyscrapers, but the boutiques are expensive.
The room was very small, but the service was quite good. We had a small meeting there and it is in the basement, but the food for breakfast was OK.
Recommend it if you have money for a good midtown location but don't want the pretentiousness of a Carlyle (or the price for that matter).
