I decided to try the London Bar for afternoon tea. I have been to many places for afternoon tea and I can honestly say that this was the worst afternoon tea that I have ever experienced. The following are my reasons:
1. They served Chantilly cream instead of clotted cream with the scones. Chantilly cream on scones doesn't compare with clotted cream. Chantilly cream doesn't taste good on the scones.
2. There was only one of each kind of dessert. We were a table of two and usually at other places they give you two of each kind of dessert so that each person can try each one. It was kind of difficult splitting a lemon tart and fruit tart in half.
3. For the sandwiches they gave two of each kind except for the egg salad sandwich. There was only one egg salad sandwich.
4. There were two raisin scones and both only had two raisins in each. Come on! They might as well have been plain scones.
5. At all the other places I've been to for afternoon tea, they used tea leaves. The London Bar just uses plain tea bags.
6. The service was so-so. We sat there for a good ten minutes before someone came by to give us a menu.
I really love Gordon Ramsay and I'm still a big fan of his. However, I have to say I was terribly disappointed with the afternoon tea at the London Bar. Perhaps lunch and dinner are better options at the London Bar but they definitely need to improve their afternoon tea service.

This has been my favorite restaurant for months now, my boyfriend and I go there so often we know the server's names... Can't get enough of their wonderful food and very professional yet friendly service. I always get the fois gras/quail and the asparagus salad. The scallops are sublime, so are their fish entrees. They have a great pre-fixie lunch available which is the best value (2 course for $25 and 3 for $35). Order the beet salad at lunch - yummy! The dinne menu is more elaborate and worth the money. The ambience is great - casual. Also a good place to spot celeb-s.
Pros: Wonderful food, great service
Cons: Pricey, albeit worth it

Though it can be quite a knock to your wallet - eating at the Maze will be a guaranteed smash. Accompied by my best friend, we made out way through the "tasting" that the Maze menu offers. You can either do a "tasting" or you can pick 3 - 4 dishes of your liking. The braised beef was cooked to perfection. The dessert (rice pudding - which I am not a fan of) was utterly masterful. I would go back in a heartbeat on a regular occasion if my wallet could take it. The only real complaint that I had is that our waiter was kind of dingy - and not what I expected of a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant (especially after watching his shows). My friend ordered a nice red wine (one of the most expensive ones on the menu); the waiter a) knocked the bottle neck on the wine glass b) dripped wine on the table. This is just one example of a mundane task he botched. He kind of disappeared for a while, leaving us to the 'bussers' if we needed anything. Which the bussers were RIGHT ON... As soon as we would finish one plate, they would have another tasting for us right behind it. Leaving us with enough to cleanse our palate.

I went for dinner at the Maze restaurant on the 10th oct, unfortunately, my period came on that day and I was wearing a white dress! Luckily, one of the waitresses told me to go to the front desk, I did so, and one of the front desk staff,-Iwona, came to my rescue! She told me not to worry, and go back to my table while she went to get some sanitary pads and then personally came to our table to hand them to me discreetly in less than 5mins. . She saved my evening! I had such a great time at that restaurant, love the tapas-style food serving, it is an epitome of the saying that 'good things come in small packages'! I had two friends who stayed at the London hotel too, and stayed the night there with them, hotel service is excellent, room is ultra comfy yet chic, I have an apt here in nyc, but whenever if there is a need to stay in a hotel, I would definitely choose London Hotel!

I've traveled to NY twice in the past 2 weeks for business. My first trip I stayed here at the London NYC. It was booked for my most recent trip and I was so disappointed to have to stay elsewhere. The rooms were quite large for a NY hotel. Split into two parts, you walk into the "living area" which boasts a big screen TV, a large desk, free wireless internet, a rounded sofa and coffee table - really awesome space. Then on the other side of french doors is the nice sized bedroom with another TV, ample closet and small but tidy and stylish bathroom. The view was pleasant, the hotel was quiet, the service was attentive. The TV system was simple to use and allowed you to order a movie, watch a portion of it and then resume playing it later. A very nice feature. The decor was contemporary, chic and comfy all at the same time. I was very impressed with the restaurant's food selection and service. Both the "cafe" and the more formal dining experience were teriffic. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SANCTUARY IN MIDTOWN!
Pros: large rooms, quiet, excellent service, location
Cons: no bathtub
