I have never been able to stump the fellas at Lopez. They have everything and are SO helpful. It is a small hardware store, but fills your needs. They have helped me figure out efficient ways to fix simple things around the house and their prices are very reasonable. I rarely visit another home store, as they seem to have it all (from lamps to dishes to drywall screws).

The selection at Sam's is pretty decent, but I think the staff are more helpful here than the other area hardware stores. Plus on Sunday everything in the store is 10% off. Not all the employees speak English however, which can be frustrating if you have a technical questions. However, usually a knowledge staff is present in the store. You just may need to wait a little longer.

Halfway between 47th and 48th street, you'll find this store. Inside is kind-of dim, but you can easily see they have tons of stuff. Whatever you need they will have. (Screws, screwdivers, different parts, etc) It's aisles of stuff on shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. They also put things in bins outside to sell. During the Christmas season, you'll see a drunk dancing Santa in their display window. It shows they have a sense of humor. It's great for a quick fix.
