place sucks has cheap low end products. very confusing s and is very very low end with expensive prices. all the rugs look like the same and i know that they are all cheap looking store except the first floor, which looks like you are walking into New Delhi, India with drapes over each dept. very cheap and tacky looking. who would even want to stay in there maybe for one minute. plus the first floor items are very poorly made and are cheap. rip off in prices. store iike every other dept store is busy. empty on every other floor. rugs all look the same hard to find which one you like but you won't find one. tacky and cheap. up the price 95% store is always empty. madeline weinrib has absolutely not a clue as to what she is doing. her dept is also too empty.
do not go there.
cleaning a rug /carpet is 400 bucks can go some where else and get a better job done for 185 bucks.
owners, the wienribs are nothing but greedy thieves. this store needs to close down and be replace with a high end store where the owners know what they are doing. and are niece. not greedy and thieves. put another high quality . it's just a matter of months before they close down.
do not go in. if go in you will walk out asap all you have to do is take a peek inside and you will run for safety

The furniture showrooms are packed (maybe too crowded). The bedding floor is a favorite. If you can't find a pattern you like here it doesn't exist.
Christmas time is extra nice. The first floor gets a grand makeover.

ABC Home is expensive. ABC Home is disorganized (albeit intentionally so). ABC Home has snooty sales people. But ABC Home also has bargains. MOre times than I can count, I have wandered into this store and just browsed leisurely until I found something spectacular and affordable to give as a gift (I once got a sea captain's chess set there for $25 that was a huge hit as a wedding gift). It's not a must go destination, and it can be a hassle, but if you enjoy the hunt, you'll enjoy ABC.

This is certainly one of the most fascinating stores in NY - home furnishings of all kinds, but nothing common. They have antiques, one of a kind items, furniture from Asia and other parts of the world, fabrics, and smaller decorative items for the home. It takes a while to explore every floor, but each floor is pretty well organized so you can target based on your tastes - there is a modern section, children's area, etc. ABC is also one of the priciest furniture stores in the city, so best to check their sales or look in their sale department, tucked away in the back of one of the floors. They also have a serious rug store directly across the street on Broadway.

Whether you're a designer looking for some international inspiration, or a tourist looking for a place to wander around and see beauty, ABC is a browser's paradise. Wander through the multi-level store to see everything from trinkets to textiles to teak. I love the furniture floor with it's impossibly large items and the floor where the ceiling is dripping with chandeliers.
For those who can afford it, have fun spending. For those who can't, have fun looking.

i dont know why everyone thinks this place is so great. they have a ton of carpets - in fact the selection is a bit overwhelming. as far as the furniture goes, i find it kind of a mixed bag. they have some funky 3rd world stuff, some retro vinatge 70s stuff and the new stuff. its all kinda weird and the layout is tough to navigate. i'd say youre better off sticking to a specialist for all the different types rather than get lost in this place.

ABC Carpets & Home is an instituition by itself . This store is the ultimate in home furnishing.
The store is a 10-story retail space containing furniture, carpets, fabrics, electronics, pottery, linen, upholstery and everything that else that you can imagine in a modern house.
Many floor displays throughout the store, are based on themes, such as oriental furniture decor, american southern theme, african upholstery, and Moroccan mosaic-tile interior decorations, etc.
The Parlor floor has an eclectic collection of beautiful gift items and housewares. There's a whole floor of on-the-bolt upholstery fabrics.
Prices aren't bad comparatively speaking, but these are high-end goods. Occasional sales offer substantial discounts.

I love this store (even though I really don't earn enough to shop there very often.) They have so many beautiful pieces that would work in any decor. Their rugs are just beautiful but they have so many lovely decorative accents you can spend hours just admiring them. The last item I bought here was a beautiful dresser top chest. It looks so exotic on my bathroom vanity. I use it to store extra hand towels and a few candles and it really spruces up the room. If any of my friends are reading this - hint, hint, hint...gift certificates to this place would make a great Christmas gift!!!
