Ordered two iPod Touch(es) online from this merchant described online as the "latest iPod touch" and the "new iPod Touch." Instead of receiving two Generation II Touches we received two Generation Is. J&R later admitted in an email they never updated the product description on the Generation I when the Generation II came out. No apology for this of course, no exchange offered either. What were we offered you ask? A $20 refund on a $546 purchase of something we didn't want. Stay away.

J & R is THE place in the city to buy anything computer or electronic related. You usually cannot beat their prices, and they simply have the best selection, possibly because of more space, but you just can't beat it. Cameras, computers, printers, music, DVDs, CDs, accessories, it's all here. They also have student software in the store which can be a great help. Sales people are very helpful. My biggest complaint is that you have to keep going up and downstairs to find what you need, sort of like Pearl Paint, but at least there are escalators! Also - if you ever need to return anything, it's like going to an underground prison - kind of a scary experience, and they're not too happy to see you there. Other than that, A+!

I do everything, EVERYTHING in my power to avoid going here. The salesmen work on commission and are oppressive and annoying, until they find out you're not spending as much as they hoped. The location is a hassle, and the various security protocols associated with making your purchase are annoying at best. That said, when you need some sort of software or gadgetry at the last minute, they always have it and for the best price (although I'm often willing to pay more to avoid going there). When desperate call, but oh is it woe to shop there.

J and R is a great electronics/music store. They have virtually everything you need and with great selections: digi cams, pcs, monitors, iPods, headphones, stereos, etc. Their music selection is also unbelievably good (two flights) with a video selection in the lower floor. Also, things are a lot cheaper in J and R than in other NYC electronic stores like the Wiz and Radio Shack.

I have been shopping at J&R for a long time. I remember when it was a few stores that sold only music. Bought albums there way back in the day. Today it is a huge store, with not just music but also electronic equipment and more. Everything from home audio, computers and just about anything you might need. Just because I don't live in NYC anymore doesn't mean I don't shop there. They are on-line as well, and I have bought some of my home electronic and computer equipment on line from them. My merchandise is always delivered quickly, and the prices can't be better. I have been a customer of J&R for a long time, and the reason is always been selection, price and customer service. A great store, and one I always visit when I'm in town.

J&R is the place to go for your electronics. The music section is large and they do have some musical scores in stock that usually has to be special ordered. The store is easy to navigate and well organized. They hold good sales, items are in stock usually and the sales people are knowledgeable enough to answer all your questions. Most importantly if you should encounter a problem, the customer service will handle it swiftly and completely without hassle or blame. I bought all my apple accessories here and the last time I went to buy an ipod the sales associates actually asked me if I had relatives in NJ because if I shipped the ipod there I would not be charged NY taxes. Now thats thinking 2 steps ahead.

J & R is huge electronics store located in lower Manhattan. They carry everything from home telephones to computers & laptops, to high end home audio video equipment. Even if you’re not looking to purchase, it’s a great place to browse. You’ll find a lot of those during lunch hour as it’s located in busy downtown. J & R occupies a few separate buildings on one city block with each department separated from one another. Their staff is knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions. Their prices are very competitive and I believe they also price match as well. The return policy is great. I remember I had no problems with returning my $700 digital camera even after 30 days. If you live out of state you can save on taxes by having them ship to your home.

J & R is like has everything electronic. They have several stores that take up the block. Each store is separated by category. They have one store that just sells music and dvd's. Another store that sells computer and its accessories. They even recently open a separate outlet store for there sale items on clearance. The staff is very informative and helpful. If you ever have any questions J & R is a good pace to start.
