Like a miniature high-end supermarket. Broadway Farms has been at the corner of 85th and Broadway for a long time - although not at the SAME corner, interestingly enough. Very nice produce - inside and outside. Heirloom tomatoes, persimmons, and other esoteric fruits nestle beside many varieties of apples and more ordinary fruits. Recently renovated, they have added a wheelchair ramp to permit access to the raised back of the store, where you can find the dairy case, frozen foods, and dry goods. One whole nook contains gourmet coffee beans and grinders. A central island offers good cheeses, and the counter has pre-made food and baked goods. Not as good as Zabars or Fairway down the street, but a passable local neighborhood alternative. Open 24 hours.
