I went to this store to get supplies for my art class and the prices are really high. They had cutting mats and T-squares for double the price compared to Pearl Paint. I suggest you go to Pearl Paint if you want better prices and are a student (like me) on a budget. The sketchbooks for also priced more here.

This place is a favorite of mine. You can get perfect deli food to eat later, or all varieties of snacks. I really enjoy getting coffee beans from the Amish Market. Definitely check this store out.

This is a lovely, high class toy store on the Upper East Side that's been there for decades now. My own memories of it revolve around going there to buy erasers, because when I was in fifth grade, that was _the_ cool thing for kids to collect, and I'm certain they've kept up with the times. Do you need Hamburger Earmuffs? A toilet brush/fly swatter? Hammacher Schlemmmer is the place that might have items such as these because it's is the place to go for odd and novel things that are both useful and unnecessary at the same time. You can go there to enjoy their massaging chairs and vibrators and silly expensive adult toys. It's a fun place and you'll always find something you're sure you'll never need.

If you're at all into the world of Sanrio, this is the place to be. Hello Kitty is certainly their biggest seller, and she is out in force along with all her friends -- during certain times of the year they have events where there is actually an employee in a Hello Kitty suit hugging kids outside the door. They also specialize in some of the harder to find Hello Kitty items (in the back behind the counter) like the toaster (I'm not sure if they actually carry the infamous Hello Kitty vibrator, though).
What I love about Sanrio is that even for someone who is only mildly interested in Hello Kitty, like myself, there are so many options -- stickers, pencils, shirts, gifts, etc. I have ducked into Sanrio killing time before a movie on 42nd street and ended up happily purchasing a mini notebook or tiny tupperware set. Crazy, I know, but such is the magic of Sanrio.
Lots of silly, kawaii fun.

I have been a customer of DVVS for 10 years now! Since I went to them with an idea for an engagement ring 10 years ago & they designed my vision in platinum to perfection. My husband and I returned there for our wedding bands and it is THE place of choice for any of my gifts since then!
The owners and staff are warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable in their trade. I knew nothing about jewelry as a first time customer, but since know and understand so much more about it, due to the time they are willing to invest in their customers.
We don't have a high income and cannot afford to spend a tremendous amount on jewelry, but due to their knowledge of the market, they are always able to find reasonable pieces with the style and design we love.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DVVS!!!
Pros: best wedding ring/band selection
