Oh I love this place. If you're making invitations for an event, need personal stationary, or are a scrap booker this place is indispensable. Also, if you have a passion for older writing styles they have a good selection of quills, fountain pens and inks, as well as a decent collection of sealing waxes (although their seal options are weak). So whether you're getting married, want to pretend to be Jane Austen or are suddenly writing an epistolary novel, come here. and while the prices are good, be prepared to spend a lot of money, because you'll just see one thing after another you want.

I love Fortunoff and dont understand how it got such a bad rating. The store is a 3/4- story collection of jewerly, bridal sets, gifts, and tea sets. On the first floor is the more expensive jewerly, the second is watches, and the 3/4 is children's jewerly, bridal gifts, and my favorite- gifts for myself and others! They have the most adorable sets of jewerly boxes, ornated mirrors, gold dipped eggs, and whatever else you are looking for. Its hard to discribe, but its a good store. Plus the prices are very reasonable, the gift wrapping is beautiful, the service is great, and they offer cookies and coffee! Oh and Sharapova was there ( yes! that one!) 3 days ago so it cant be that bad!
Pros: great prices, rare items, amazing everything!
Cons: parking is impossible

It's the perfect place to shop for a wedding gift and with a little luck you can frequently find something really innovative there.

If you are looking for something unique, special and of high quality for valentine's day, mother's day, an anniversary, girlfriend's birthday, etc. you will find it at this store. The staff is very helpful in giving advice and gearing you towards an appropriate selection. You will find lingerie featured at this store that cannot be found anywhere else in the city. Definitely woth the trip and a must stop anytime you are in the West Village.

Apartment 48 is my go-to place for all kinds of gifts - wedding, baby, birthday, you name it. I have been shopping at this fabulous store for years and I went by their old location today and my heart almost stopped when I saw it was closed, but thank goodness... they had just moved down the street to a bigger, better and even more beautiful location! It was really great to get so many Christmas gifts at one place. The owner is always around to suggest the perfect item and their selection is truly unique - you will find one-of-a-kind items here. Highly recommended!

I love this place! Everything they have is fun and funky and you could spend hours looking around at all their stuff. They have lots of funny cards and stationary, wrapping paper, interesting notebooks and binders, really funky watches and jewelry and some cool clocks too. It's so much fun to walk around in there, it's not very big, but you can still get lost inside!

being from queens, you don't really get to see a lot of comic book stores open past 7pm. i was out on a date last week and while waiting for my date, i passed by st. marks. i had heard about it but never got to frequent it before. i was surprised that there was such variety and selection for a place so small. the staff was extremely helpful. they should really advertise more or something that way people will get to know that they're open till
1 AM on the weekends (if you love comics, tell me that's not awesome) all in all, a great place to shop with plenty of things to do after your done getting your geek on.
Pros: hours of operation, staff, location
