If you're at all into the world of Sanrio, this is the place to be. Hello Kitty is certainly their biggest seller, and she is out in force along with all her friends -- during certain times of the year they have events where there is actually an employee in a Hello Kitty suit hugging kids outside the door. They also specialize in some of the harder to find Hello Kitty items (in the back behind the counter) like the toaster (I'm not sure if they actually carry the infamous Hello Kitty vibrator, though). What I love about Sanrio is that even for someone who is only mildly interested in Hello Kitty, like myself, there are so many options -- stickers, pencils, shirts, gifts, etc. I have ducked into Sanrio killing time before a movie on 42nd street and ended up happily purchasing a mini notebook or tiny tupperware set. Crazy, I know, but such is the magic of Sanrio. Lots of silly, kawaii fun.

This store has adorable things for people of all ages who love Hello Kitty and the other characters. Be warned that they are very strict on security: I adusted my shoe near the door and I think they thought I was trying to steal an umbrella! The prices are reasonable and the selection is wide enough so that you'll be able to find just about anything you're looking for. Be sure to check the display that's almost hidden just to the left of the cash registers.

I know I'm not alone in still LOVING anything Hello Kitty because boy has that cat made a comeback! The Sanrio store on West 42nd Street has New York's best collection of Hello Kitty and other Sanrio character products. Hello Kitty towels, dishes, toys, anything, it's all here. I could spend hours here, and that's just shopping for myself! But, if you do have kids that love Hello Kitty, this is the perfect store to take them to.

If you like Sanrio characters (you know who you are) then this is the place to be. While many shops you go to have all sorts of characters, this is strictly the Japanese cartoons. If you're looking for the cute Korean and Chinese stuff, look elsewhere. There is an array of merchandise to choose from: stationery, candy, accessories, and home furnishings. Some boast reasonable prices while other items are ridiculous. It's fun to stop by, especially if you have a little girl in your life.

basically this is a store, which sells everything you possibly would not need, but will buy anyways because it looks really cute. the stuff in there are not expensive. they have wallets, stationary, and stuff animals of differnt characters. and some of the stuff are pretty nice. i like their wallets. this a great place to go to get people gifts. you really don't need any of these things. after all you have pens and pencils that work just fine at home. but they're really cheap, and are really cute, so why not?

It's a cute novelty store if you're looking for something for a female friend or children while in Midtown. Plenty of stocking stuffers for this time of year -- pens, pencils, notepads, erasers, stuffed animals, etc for those who like to accessorize. It's mostly Hello Kitty so I recommend going downtown. You can find more of these type of novelty shops. They tend to carry newer characters and offer more discounts. Some shops have frequent shopper bonuses.

If you don't like anything Hello Kitty, then you probably shouldn't step into this store. They have so many Hello Kitty products including pillows, boom boxes, plushies, school supplies, gum, clothes and cd players. The whole place is pink, which might scare some people. It's really a shop for kids. They also have merchandise with the other Sanrio characters.
