This is a great place to buy things you don't need for your house. Or even better, buy things other people don't need for their houses (and isnt' that the gift most people want? things they like but aren't useful enough for them to buy themselves?). Fun store, that's nice to shop in, but a little crowded, so be careful.

This is a great little place, whether your shopping for a housewarming gift or looking for yourself. Although if you were shopping for someone else, you'd probably wind up buying something for yourself anyway!
The fun of this place is such that people come in here to just look and ooh and ahh over the store's merchandise, whether it's Jonathan Adler tableware or the cutest hot water bottles with hearts on them. They also have great desk accessories, like funky clocks and calculators, making them perfect gifts for guys. This is the kind of store where you can't keep quiet as you constantly say, "Oh look at that!" or "I didn't even know they made this stuff!"

Second the store is a great selection of 1950's memorabilita, quirky gift items and art and add some funky store decor and you have one very interesting shop.
A great place to find oddball gifts for your off the wall friends. High prices.

For years, New York Magazine would list interesting stuff in their pages that came from this store. I never was a Superman comic book fan but knew that this was a name right out of DC comics. After eating brunch one Sunday, I walked past the store and saw enough goodies in the window to make a return trip when they were open.
I bought a George W. Bush dog toy and a leather business card case (I keep my Judysbook cards in there). My dog tried to bite the president's head off (good dogie!) so now it's sitting next to my PC.
Interesting place to buy one-of-a-kind gifts or cool junk that you really don't need but want.

When I first visited Mxyplyzyk (try to say that 10 times fast), I was delighted by not only the reference but by the eclectic merchandise. It seemed that I could find any kind of quirky gift here. Then I came to rely on these assumptions and I was disappointed. The variety (and usefulness) of the merchandise seems to be in decline. This makes me very sad as I used to love to both browse in here AND spend my money after the browse. Now I just pass by and look in the windows, hoping it will return to its former glory...

this place is pretty wild. dont even try to pronounce the name. i cant get close. so dont try asking a cab driver to take you there but if you can get there its worth hanging around for a little bit. the owners have good taste, at least in my opinion, cause i loved everything in there. very cutting edge things for the home. kind of light on furniture - more tableware kinda stuff...

This place is a necessity when gift shopping for virtually anyone. You can fin really cool but practical items to completely ridiculous but fun like packing tape with bacon on it (which I guess is kind of useful). The prices range from okay to very expensive, so definitely reserved for buying for others only. Also, as a bonus I once saw Hugh Jackman shopping with his family here.

I love going here just to browse at the items when I am in between gift buying duties. I don't think I have ever been on a gift buying mission and left this place empty handed, there really is something for everything here, from the cool servingware to packing tape adorned with bacon.
