The food at the Butterfield is top notch, and always has been my entire life. It is the go-to place for gourmet and homemade pastas, sandwiches, soups, breads, and cookies, not to mention premier olive oils and beautiful pears! The people who work there are always ready to help, and from what I've heard about the catering department, it is absolutely high class, delivering impeccable service, 100% and beyond. A life long New Yorker, I had my fair share of catered food. Whether it be a social or professional function, it's pretty ho-hum if you know what I mean. That is until, a dear friend of mine introduced me to Butterfield. Faced with an upcoming family gathering, I decide to give them a call. I spoke with a young lady, her name was Joelle. I shared with her my vison for the event and she was quickly on my page. I liked that she just didn't run through the menu but actually took the time to learn about the kind of occasion I was planning and what I hoped to achieve. She made some helpful suggestions and made a concerted effort to work within my budget. I thought that was a good sign. With the exception of my building's tempermental elevator, there were no other anxious moments. The presentation of the food dazzle the eye but more importantly the food lived up to its appeal. The quality, the taste and the freshness could easliy rival a high end restaurant. The stuffed loin of pork quickly became a favorite. Needless to say, my family wanted the recipe. Unfortunatley, the best I could do was to offer them Butterfield's card. I would urge you to include the apple pie in your dessert choices. The apples were expertly spiced and not over cooked and the pastry offered a flakey crunch that melted in your mouth leaving a buttery flavor that linger on your pallette. (yes, dessert is my favorite part of the meal) It so reminded me of my mom's apple pie. I really believe I got outstanding value. I am so pleased with Joelle and her crew that I feel I owe them this review. Going forward, it's as though I now have a friend in the catering business. Pros: The quality is definitely there and the presentation makes your mouth water. The delivery persons were so courteous. Cons: none

I have been meaning to post this review for the last few weeks. Butterfield Market?s Thanksgiving was fantastic. Although I am a foodie, I am not someone who usually enjoys Thanksgiving food all that much. I am much bigger fan of ethnic cuisines -- Mexican, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, French ? rather than your typical American fare (save Southern BBQ and Soul Food). However, Butterfield Market?s approach to Thanksgiving has given me a new appreciation for the Holiday Feast. The sides are delicious and inventive. The praline sweet potatoes melt in your mouth, while the chestnut stuffing (especially when drenched in their Turkey gravy) was sublime. The turkey itself was so moist. I have found myself fake smiling through so many dried out turkey meals that it was just remarkable how moist this Turkey turned out to be. The fresh cranberry sauce and Brussels sprouts with pancetta were standouts. The pies were also delectable. The food was remarkable and I wouldn?t hesitate to order from the Butterfield Market again.

Having always prepared the Thanksgiving feast at our house, I had the good fortune to be invited to friends for the traditional holiday meal. When I heard it was being catered I felt kinda let down, My stomach was saying goodbye to fresh and homemade. Well, I was very impressed. Not only was the presentation so appetizing, but the food was obviously fresh and the taste reminded me of many of the sides I would have made. I can still taste the mashed sweet potatoes. One exception was the Turkey, it was so moist and succulent ( my breast meat is usually dry) and the gravy was natural not loaded with glue like cornstarch. I just had to find out who the caterer was and I was told it was Buterfield Market. My friend said they were great to work with and they even called her to find out if she was happy! When have you last heard that !! Well I got there number and am planning on using them for New Years. Pros: My host suggested you ask for Joelle. My friend said she is so accommmodating and a joy to work with. She really tried to match her budget

We came into NY to visit with our children for Thanksgiving. We were a large group or 17 for dinner so they hired Butterfields to cater the meal. We have eaten at many of New York?s finest restaurants for various holidays and without any exceptions this was absolutely the best meal we have ever had the pleasure of eating. The turkey was moist, the sweet potatoes were flavored with praline, they were better than my Mothers (sorry Mom). The vegetables were perfect as well. The portions were very generous and yes we had leftovers for turkey sandwiches the next day. Then came the pies, I love Pecan pie and am quite the connoisseur THIS WAS THE BEST we also had Apple, Lemon and Pumpkin, all great. The value was the best we have ever paid as well, I don?t know how they can make such a great meal for the money we paid. I will definitely contract them again the next time we visit New York. I just used Butterfield to cater an intimate thanksgiving for 17 people and my guests (and me) can't stop raving about how wonderful everything was. First of all, they took care of all the details, from soup to nuts. The prices were very reasonable, the food came, on time, when promised. The deliveryman was pleasant, courteous and diligent, but most importantly, the food was amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. The side dishes were creative, tasty and the deserts were out of this world. I have found myself a new caterer. I have used many other caterers around the city for occasions like this, but when a friend raved about Butterfield, I thought I'd give them a try and I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Butterfield, for making this a very memorable Thanksgiving. Pros: Great prices, excellent food and terrific service Cons: I ate too much
