I went to a Gothic Furniture store in Yonkers and it was horrible from start to finish. They kept changing delivery dates and after delivering the furniture, did not put it together (I ordered 3 bureaus for $1,400). I tried to put the drawers in according to the numbers they had written on the sides, and they would not fit. It was a nightmare getting them back to fix the problem. The drawers would work for a short period of time and then one by one they would become jammed. The screws inside are always getting in the way of the tracks stopping the drawers from sliding in and out. I am always pulling out drawers and trying to tighten the screws. It is a nightmare. Right now, I have three drawers per dresser sticking out and it looks horrendous. I have never in my life had a problem with dressers like this. I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone and consider these bureaus the absolute WORST major purchase that I have ever made.

I went to Paramus location (65e Rte 4 West) and I ordered 3 bookcases with glass doors. The total order was $3,000. I paid half of it when I ordered and the other half it was suppose to be paid at the delivery date. They called me one day before to tell me the furniture will come next day in the morning. I tried to reschedule the delivery (because I was suppose to go to my son graduation) and they refused me telling me that I am the 3rd delivery in a line of 8 (this end up to be a lie) and it cannot be rescheduled.
They came at 10:30 A.M., installed the furniture for about 1 hour. It looked HORRIBLE. I have never seen such a poor execution in my life – the glass doors were cut wrong, the other doors were not equal … I called the store and told them I’m not going to pay the balance – the furniture they delivered is not worth it $3,000. We got in a big fight with them – they told me that the company policy is that the truck cannot leave the house without the balance paid in cash, money order or certified check.
So, we missed the graduation and the carpenters came and tried to fix the furniture for 5 hours and still they have to come back with 2 glass doors.
It looks better now but still, this is not a $3,000 furniture. Please do not make the same mistake I made … avoid them ! ! ! IKEA is 100 times better.

Run from Gothic. Run.
Look into other low cost possibilities, like Work Bench or
IKEA. Perhaps Gothic's online ordering system is ok.
I have only purchased via Brooklyn, NY in-store locations.
And have had very bad customer service experiences.
I have filed a police complaint, Better Business Bureau complaint and am currently seeking a settlement in small claims court.
No furniture experience is worth being harassed by employees.
Be safe, and stay away from any Brooklyn, NY retail location of Gothic Cabinet Craft. There are other inexpensive and sturdy furniture options.

If you don't want to trek out the suburbs or leave the state - Gothic furniture is a supplier of raw furniture designs at pretty reasonable prices. You can paint your own end table and then get compliments on it later. They have a good selection of different furniture styles and they're located all around the city - so you'll not need to travel far. Good luck!

Gothic Cabinet Craft is a good resource for quasi-cheap furniture, especially if you are willing to paint or stain the woods yourself (raw wood there is much cheaper than painted and stained pieces). Much of their stock is made from pine, which is very soft and easily damaged by pets or moving, but if you don't expect lots of wear and tear they're a good resource for tables, cabinets and dressers. I have a few small bookshelves, an apothocary chest (coolest thing ever, okay?) and a trunk (that I made a cushion for to turn it into seating) from there. So much more character than Ikea, especially if you're not a modernist.
