There are a handful of "Mom & Pop" gift stores left in NYC, and Delphinium Home is tops on my list! They've been a fixture in Hell's Kitchen for several years now, and their quality of merchandise and friendly staff is still going strong. You walk in and are immediately greeted with a smile. There's always a great CD playing (usually you can purchase it there, too, if you love it) that sets the tone for your shopping spree. There's practical things for your home, kooky things for fun gifts, soaps and shampoos for your grooming needs, great seasonal decor, gift books, frames and wall clocks....every space is filled with something great, so make sure you look up, too! And their window displays are exceptional, clearly designed with the very personal flair that you get every time you set foot in Delphinium Home! Pros: Great variety of items

I love this store! It's like no other in Hell's Kitchen. You can get a welcome mat, amazing candles, martini glasses, picture frames and a shower curtain in one boutique location, all while listening to Cher's Greatest Hits. Delphinium Home is a gem. It would be difficult to visit this store and not find something you need to own! Every time I have been here, the staff has been helpful, but they also let you shop without hovering. The best thing about this store is the fact that each time you visit, you see something that wasn't there before. If you need gift ideas for newlyweds, a housewarming, or just because, this store will not disappoint. Pros: Great location, variety of merchandise, and wonderful service. Cons: None

When I moved to Hell's Kitchen 5 years ago Delphinium Home became my one-stop-shop for setting up my new home. They have a fantastic selection and great service. Picture frames, candles, bathroom and kitchen accessories, storage solutions, you name it. They are now my first (and usually only) stop for gifts. I can almost always find the perfect birthday, wedding, anniversary or Christmas gift at Delphinium. Thanks guys. You rock.

I LOVE Delphinium Home. It's a privately owned store with just about every home and gift need under the sun! The store SMELLS amazing, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. I've bought (and received) plenty of gifts and home goods from them and have never been disappointed. among my favorites are the bl00d orange candle, the pomegranate k. hall designs oil scent diffuser, wingard home products and the cute picture frames (displayed with pictures of the hottest celebrities). I want so many things from this store, but my apartment just isn't big enough (and who needs 4 different shower curtains when they only have one shower - and it has a glass door?). In order to feed my need, I shop here for gifts - housewarming, birthday, fun hostess gifts for those with a good sense of humor. This is a fun shop to just browse through.

There are very few gift stores in this area (excluding Columbus circle and the tourist haunts near Broadway), so I greatly appreciate Delphinium's classy, affordable and wide selection. I can always find a cute candle and candle holder or recipe book as a last minute gift. Also don't miss the frequent coupons they mail out to area residents.

Delphinium Home is a wonderful little shop to purchase items for your home. I love to visit this shop when I am looking for a gift for someone as well. It is a small shop, but they manage to keep quite a wide variety of items in there. Anything from nick-knacks to soaps to candles to kitchen items. You will certainly find something unique in this store. The prices are reasonable -- although a bit higher than what you might pay in a larger chain store.

Leaning towards catering for the gay man's home, you will find everything from slick bar ware to colorful shower curtains. They have tons of scented things like candles and air fresheners. Great gifts here because most things won't be found in Bed Bath and Beyond - this shop also leans towards boutique-y type products.
