My husband and I were visiting from out of town and needed a restaurant convenient/ central to meet up with some friends. We were also celebrating a friend's recent engagement so wanted a place with a good atmosphere. Vong fit our criteria perfectly! We sat at the bar and asked for suggestions from the menu. The bartender knew the menu perfectly and could really suggest items that fit out individual tastes. Our group of 4 had a sampling of a few items from the menu - from spring rolls to Pad Thai to chicken satay -all were delicious and the peanut sauce was perfection. Finally we asked because the weather was terrible and it seemed so quiet - if there were other customers since it seemed all attention was focused on us. Turns out there was a dining room filled with guests. We never would have known because of the fantastic attentive service we received. I plan to visit Vong on my next trip to New York.
Pros: Ambience - cozy. Service - brilliant. Food - delicious and unique

Everything from the wait staff to the cuisine and the wine are top notch. My husband and I love to go for pre-theatre dinner, and we have never been disappointed. Definately recommend it.
Pros: Excellent Seasonal Menu
Cons: Small space, but it is Manhattan after all

One of my favorite restaurants, the garden is beautiful and the front dining area is really sweet. The french onion soup is wonderfully executed, it's the best I've had since my last visit to Paris. The mussels are also fantastic, fresh and the sauce is amazing. The short ribs are decadent and cooked to perfection. Also try the steak, it's to die for...seriously. One of my evenings there, the chef was so nice and altered a dish for my partner who is allergic to dairy. That's really hard to find and I highly recommend, not only for the food but for the great service
Pros: Food is excellent, love the option of eating indoors or out
Cons: Bathroom is downstairs so not ideal for the wheelchair bound

This place is a true Midtown gem - authentically French, cramped full of indulging diners, amazing food, unbelievable portions and insanely reasonable prices ... get the mussels as an appetizer and try to save room for dessert. Tout va bien, indeed!

Just kidding. Ok, I am going to have dessert before dinner or lunch, because he chocolate cake is SOOO worth it, I would come here just for it. I must prepare you for the crowd, though. It seems no matter what time you go, it's busy-very busy. Part of it is the clebrity factor, but the parts that will carry it on are the food and the unprecedented friendliness.
