if you love sandwiches and sandwich meat, then you'll love this place. they make everything there, and my personal favorite is the roast beef. the meat are spilling out of the bread. since i don't eat alot i can never eat the whole thing. and the prices are good for a sandwich that big. it's well worth the visit, as after all it is a new york city treasure. and the people who work there are very friendly.

I took my husband when we starting dating, he absolutely adored the experience. The potato pancakes are simply superb and served with both sour cream and apple sauce. The sandwiches are huge and they do charge you extra if you want to share. Rumor has it if you eat 2 sandwiches, the first one is free. I don't know how anyone can do that. Just a great place to just stuff yourself full.

The Carnegie Deli is probably the most famous delicatessen in the world. While most people know it for the name, I have to say that its food stands up to the test as well. Their meats are great and they always take care of you when making your order. The biggest problem is that it is victim of its own popularity because the lines seem to get longer and longer. If you can stand the wait, its well worth it

New Yorkers are fiercely loyal when it comes to delis, and the most famous -- The Carnegie Deli. The Carnegie Deli is the most well-known deli in New York, and it's for a good reason. The food here is out-of-this world, from the deli sandwiches to the unusual local favorites that are true New York originals. Even if your not hungry, stop in for a drink or snack...no trip to NYC is complete without getting something to eat here!
It's worth the $3 sharing charge to split one of these monster sandwiches, they'll give you extra bread and you can each make a full meal. If there's room, their cheesecake is wonderful too. Corned beef, hot pastrami, all-beef franks, chopped liver, kreplach soup, hot or cold borscht, omelettes - you name it.... they've got it. They also make a great egg cream and again the cheesecake is to die for! Typical deli atmosphere with photos of famous people decorating the walls.
