I remember Bowlmor from before it was remodled, and it was just a sketchy bowling alley. Now it's hip and retro and has ridiculous glow-in-the-dark bowling some nights (which is really hard as it messes with your depth perception). This is a great place to go with a group, but be prepared to spend -- beer, wings and games all go fast.

The atmosphere at Bowlmor is great, from the lounge/dining area to the side of the lanes to of course, the lanes themselves. This is a great party place or an alternative to sitting around in a bar with friends. The DJ is always good and the waitresses rotate frequently, ensuring you have been fed and watered.
Thus, it becomes too easy to rack up the games, which are not cheap, and you wind up with a hefty bill to show for it.

Need something to do on a Saturday night? How about fluorescent bowling? Bowlmor is like a bar / cocktail lounge / bowling alley / shoe store all in one. The shoe store part is the ugly bowling shoes, but the drinks and eating things are nice and the bowling is fun. The decor is dark and neon and it's a place to have a good time with friends or a more intimate experience. It's fun to have fun at Bowlmor!

We're gonna score tonight. At Bowlmor. With artery clogging appetizers and pitchers of beer. After we bowl a couple of games - for a fairly large fee as this is not the ghetto lanes at the PA - we can head up to the swanky lounge and play pool.
Come early if you are meeting friends as you have to wait for the elevator and it only holds a small amount of people at a time. Lanes sell out. You might have to wait at the bar. Expect that you will spend more than a few $20s at a night at Bowlmor.

I always have a ton of fun at Bowlmor. Yes, it’s not cheap, but what is in Manhattan? It’s worth it. It’s not your normal bowling alley, with a full bar, good food, and wall displays with pins signed by celebs who’ve showed up to bowl. I love it when you get to play in the blacklights. Go, have fun.

Who would have thought you would be able to bowl in the middle of Manhattan? Welcome to Bowlmor Games, a swanky bowling place that is nothing like the bowling alleys you would find in the suburbs. This place is hot with celebrities and is frequently booked for private parties. It is conveniently located just south of Union Square so it is easy to reach on the subway from just about anywhere in New York City. It is expensive though, $5 to rent shoes and about $8 a person a game. Monday late nights are especially fun with glow in the dark bowling balls and a DJ.

I have been to some corporate events here, which were great. I have also been there with some friends.
This place is so much more fun than you would ever think a bowling alley would be.

If you're around NYU, you know that the only bowling lane available in washington square is bowlmor. They have an elevator to bring you up to the second floor where you first check in. There are lanes on both the second and third floors so there's a good 30 lanes or so. The place is usually packed with students on friday, and saturday night, so I'd make reservations or just wait in the bar area and get drunk first with your friends. The bowling prices here are insanely expensive especially on friday nights an saturdays, so definitely bring your wallet and bring a bunch of friends. They serve beer, but the selection isn't so good. I'd definitely get mixed drinks instead. It's also very noisy inside, so you'll need to scream to get anyone attention. I wouldn't recommend carrying on a conversation in the bowling area. If you're really in the mood for bowling and you're not willing to go somewhere across town, like chelsea, then this is your only place. Other than the price, it's not a bad place. Go in and have fun.

If you want extravagance when you are bowling, then Bowlmor is perfect for you. They have colorful lanes with flashing lights. The decor is absolutely beautiful. There is a bar, stools, and bean bag chairs. It's as if it's a bowling alley strictly for adults. The only drawback is the price. It's expensive. It's a great place for parties and a one in while kind of place.
