Here is a place where the people working have a passion for movies. They can answer any questions you have, no matter how simple or specific. In addition, they write reviews of their own and post them on the wall for all the new releases. The collection is phenomenol filled with the basic genres as well as international films which you only hear about at the Oscars. To top it all off, the prices here are astoundingly cheap when you pay up-front for 25 movies, you get a special price which equals about $2.50 a movie.

This is a popular skating rink in New York City. Probably one of the best, if not already the best. Skaters pay a flat fee to get in and they can skate all day. The center of the rink is reserved for professional skaters who want to practice tricks.
When there are large crowds, the rink gets re-iced a lot more often. That's not good because it takes up a lot of time to do. So although this is a good rink, the crowd really can be a hassel sometimes.
During the summer this place is turned into a tiny carnival type place. They have small rides and games, all for kids though.

A production should feel very lucky to be at the Winter Garden - it seems like it only hosts long running shows! This is of course due to two of its most recent tenants - Cats & Mamma Mia!, two of the longest running musicals in the history of the Great White Way. The Winter Garden is huge (lots of seats for lots of fans). Front mezzanine seats are my favorites here. The stage door is on 7th Avenue - find your favorite chorus member after the show and let them know how much you loved his/her dance numbers.

Alot of it has to do with the bands that come and play there, but I LOVE seeing shows at Wetlands.
What a cool place to see a show.
They call themselves an "ecosaloon", and cater to a very worldly crowd. The bands that come through range from reggae to hip-hop to psychdelic blues, to jam bands.
Reasonable ticket prices allow you to get here more often.

I pretty much randomly went to see this show and it is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I could not stop laughing throughout the entire play.
Jewtopia is an off-Broadway production and is absolutely fantastic. The great thing is, tickets won't run you over $100 a piece; they are around half of that.
The show is great, espeically for American Jews. This is not to say that gentiles won't like it, but I think that they just won't get a lot of the humor and inside jokes.
At 22, I was the youngest one in the audience by about 40 years which surprised me a bit, but I would recommend this show to anyone my age or older. I plan on sending my parents to it the next time they are in town.

Webster Hall is usually a dance club, but they also have a fairly regular schedule of rock shows that are put on by the Bowery Ballroom/Mercury Lounge called "Bowery Presents." It's usually the band who played the Bowery a year or two ago and now need a bigger space. I'd say it's bigger than Irving Plaza and smaller than Roseland. It's more expensive than the Bowery and very weird because you have to enter through the same door as all the clubgoers. The dance club is open during the shows, you are just kept in a separate performance space. It has decent sign lines/high stage and a good lineup of bands.

Home of the New York City Film Festival this theater located in Lincoln Center is marvelous. The seats are plush and very comfortable. The selection of films runs to the eclectic but this is one of the few places in town where you will find non Hollywood fare. Take the time to walk around Center before the movie and you will feel culturally uplifted. A definite must go to place if you love film and film history.
