This multiplex has great seating. Theater arrangements are nice and clean. Though the bathrooms are inconveniently located they are well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. Concession stands are conveniently located with a large selection of products. The theater is located in a great spot near various forms of public transportation as well as a variety of restaurants and shopping as well.

This is the book store that is connected to the Juilliard Music School in Lincoln Center. It is just wonderful. Wide and spacious and loaded with books and CDs from the performing arts. Heavy on classical music which makes sense as that is what the school teaches the store vibrates with music. The staff is very knowledgeable and doesn't look down on you for asking silly questions. A top notch resource for the city of New York.

Home of the New York City Film Festival this theater located in Lincoln Center is marvelous. The seats are plush and very comfortable. The selection of films runs to the eclectic but this is one of the few places in town where you will find non Hollywood fare. Take the time to walk around Center before the movie and you will feel culturally uplifted. A definite must go to place if you love film and film history.

Carnegie Hall is finally out from under its scaffolding veil! Thank goodness, because she is an architectural beauty as well as a spot for fantastic concerts by known and up-and-coming performing artists. You can hear world music, opera, symphonies, musicals...just about anything musical may be found in a year at CH.
Check out Weill Hall & Zankel Hall for more intimate performances.
The NRQ line is the closest to Carnegie Hall.
Look on 56th Street just west of 7th to watch the mighty take a smoke break before a performance.

This is one place I prefer to go to see a great show. The entranceway is grand to say the least, and when you go into the theater it is a spectacular sight to see the high ceilings and elaborate displays of the production Phantom of the Opera. Well worth the price you pay for admission to have an experience here.

I've been going to Madison Square Garden for events since I was a child. I LOVE this place. A trip to NYC is not complete without a trip to MSG - whether to see the Knicks, Rangers, or take in a Christmas ice show, etc, it's a must. Concerts here are awesome too. I've been to quite a few and there's always a good seat in the large arena. I've also been here for the Ringling Bros circus. Kids love that1
Definitely check out the Madison Square Garden when you're in New York City.

Sex and the City shot an episode at this Trapeze school. That's where I got the idea from. My friends and I went there for 1 class. Eash class is about $50/45 minutes. It's really popular and you have to reserve a spot in advance. My adrenaline ran through my veins when I have my first flight and it was amazing just to notice that I was flying! It's a truly unique experience. The instructors are all very friendly and patience. Don't be afraid that you had no experience at all. Just give it a try and you will be surprised how much fun you will have.

If you visit New York you can't skip the trip to Ellis Island Museum. The whole place is full of history and we spent about 3 hours walking around learning interesting things about the immigration to America and the start of our country. Since most if not all Americans have ancesters who came through Ellis Island on their way to America, the museum holds special meaning and in the great hall you can feel the energy and hope that drove those millions to come to a new world. Fascinating bit of American history.

If you are looking for affordable photography classes, I highly recommend PhotoManhattan. The teachers are very enthusiastic and clearly love what they are doing. They will stay after class as well as meet students on other days. They are very flexible and accomodating.
Intro to Photography and Intro to Darkroom are regularly available. I took those as well as Photography 2 and was very pleased with the dedication of the teachers and the price I paid - much more affordable than other places in town.
There are two different Intro to Photography classes - a nine week class, which has a student exhibition at the end and a more compact five week class without an exhibition. (Of course, if you want to exhibit your work and invite your friends to come to the studio to see, the organization is more than happy to help its five week students with that.) The exhibition is a lot of fun with wine and crackers. It's great to be around a lot of people who enjoy doing the same thing.

The Puck Building is an unusual but cool place to get married or hold any kind of large event. There are three event halls and they are all amazing because of their large spaces and amazing views of lower Manhattan. Large windows, hard wood flooring, and incredible views make this venue a unique and fun place to have an event. I would totally recommend this to a friend looking for a modern twist on New York city weddings.
