I went in for my first visit with them. Nothing special but nothing horrible. Then, they told me I had a cavity and would have to get a filling. That's when the trouble started. He put in the filling, it was my first filling, so I'm not sure how much it was supposed to hurt, but from what I've heard it shouldn't hurt at all. He told me to let him know if it hurt, I did, he shot me up more, but it didn't help. After a couple days it still hurt so I went back in, he tried to fix it, but it still hurt. I went in two more times and he was still unable to fix it. Then he sent me to an endodontist to get a root canal. I was unable to eat on that side of my mouth for three months by the time the root canal was done, plus the root canal ended up costing me $550. Once it was all done I called back to get some money back for all the problems, at least the $60 for the messed up filling. Unfortunately he was unwilling to take responsibility for his mistake and did not care that he put me through all this.

I have been going here for 3 years and it is always a good experience, on par with care I have received in NJ and better than 2 other NYC dentists I tried. Ellen gives the best cleanings known to humankind. I swear after you come out of her chair, you don't have to brush for like a week. Everything just bounces off. Seriously though, I have only good things to say after several visits for routine stuff - cleanings and the occasional filling. Thumbs up.

1. Incoherent: Dr. Young is unable to engage in a coherent discussion regarding the 'care' you can expect to receive from her.
2. Unprofessional: They are horrendously unprofessional. Case in point: I showed up for my appointment and waited about 45 minutes to be seen.
The dentist was UNABLE to do the scheduled work because she was unprepared and UNABLE to obtain the required information from their own records. To top it off, I was then given conflicting 'explanations' regarding why the work couldn't be done.
3. I was then told that I could either wait for an additional 45 minutes to an hour, as they had scheduled another patient at the same time, or I could make a new appointment.
4. They then tried to give me an appointment one month away - to finish the root canal they started.
As I said: INEPT.

But the service was not so good. The doctor was seeing two patients at one time. going back and forth bet. myself and the other.
The receptionist was very unprofessional.
Do not wanna go back to that office.

I went there for the first time a few weeks ago. The staff was nice, the doctors were insightful and the pamphlets were actually useful. While the service is no where near what you get out of state, for NY it is up there with the best. If you are looking for great low cost affordable health care...come here!

I chose Gramercy Park Dental because it’s close to my office. That’s pretty much all I can say about it. The service was fine and standard (as usual for me and my sensitive teeth: it hurt). But I didn’t have any problem leaving for some where else. One gets the feeling, in part because they share space with an optometrist, that they’re there for the buck and don’t really have repeat customers. In fact, I don’t think I saw anybody over 40 in the waiting room ever. They’ll do, but they’re nothing to write home about.
