I've been to countless dentists, and I've disliked them all. Then I went to Dr. Chiou, and what a difference! He was friendly, patient. I never felt rushed, he thoroughly explained everything and gave me opportunities to ask questions. I'd recommend him to anyone who is scared of going to the dentist! I would highly that recommend that anyone looking for a new dentist go see Dr. Brendan Chiou at The Exchange Dental Group. He is helpful, skilled, and makes even the most unpleasant dental experiences bearable. Also, the staff at Exchange Dental is SO NICE and helpful, both over the phone and in person. Dr. Chiou is especially good at answering questions and making sure that you are comfortable with what is going on and what he will be doing. Check it out.

I took my 3 year old daughter here for her first dentist appt - she saw the pediatric dentist. The entire experience was wonderful. The dentist was running on time, the waiting room was clean, comfortable, there were books for the kids to read. The dentist was wonderful w/my daughter and she actually had fun! I was nervous that it could be a disaster but she ended up enjoying it. There is a tv w/cartoons for the child to watch while getting the check up/cleaning. The dentist and the assistant both talked to my daughter, made her laugh, put her at ease. I could tell she was not nervous or uncomfortable. They told her what they were doing, let her touch the instruments, smell the bubblegum polish paste... etc. It was a great experience and I highly recommend the pediatric dentist at Exchange Dental. Pros: Great pediatric dentist, very child-friendly, clean office, on time, friendly staff Cons: pediatric dentist may only be on site 1 day/week at this office

The office is nice and all the staff are nice. However the doctor i meet was extremely rude and impolite. He is very argumentative on every questions I asked him. He didn't have experience when i asked him some specific questions and try to give me his guess while trying to play that he is an expert. I am now questioning his education and license. He must have gotten some scammed license or something. He even speaks like an uneducated idiot!!!!

The reviews are true (thankfully). My experience at this office was good enough to make me want to write my first review on Citysearch and Yelp to help others out in finding not only a decent, but also a good dentist. Jo (hygienest) was exceptionally gentle during the cleaning as well as thoughtful in making sure I was comfortable and informed during the process. Dr. Brendon was really nice! Did all the right things - introduced himself, asked lots of questions, went over the digital films of my x-rays, answered lots of my questions and wrapped up by making sure I was satisfied with the service. Very smart of him. Everybody at the office seemed helpful and thoughtful, including the reception staff. Kudos to this organization for being so professional and nice and making a dental visit actually pleasant - even enjoyable. I'm sure the other dentists are quite good as well (have read other reviews), but I highly recommend these two. Conveniently located near Wall St on Broadway (near Daffy's and Fidelity). So don't put off those annual check-ups and cleanings and just try this place. Good Luck! Pros: Attentive, thoughtful service. Really stellar for a dental office. Good people- you can just tell. Dr Chiou has always been very understanding and I've always had a very nice and comfortable experience whenever I've had any dental work completed. I recently visited my hometown (Richmond,VA) family dentist who actually commented on the quality of my dental work and told me that I had found a good dentist. Very surprised to read the previous comment as Dr. Chiou is always such a nice person. I have not hesitated to send my friends to him.

I was greatly disappointed with the experience I had with the dentist at the Exchange Dental Group, especially after the couple of good reviews I saw on this site. The receptionist was nice and professional while the dentist was pompous, arrogant and had an attitude problem. This is the first review I make but felt compelled to write because I had seen good reviews -- One would have to wonder. Stay clear of this place. It is a waste of time. There are plenty of good dentists who actually want your business and behave as professional caring dentists -- not this one!!!

I've been working in the downtown Wall St. area for over 37 years. During that time, I've seen many individuals come and go and, through all of the hiring and firing, I have aquired what I'd like to think is a keen eye for that rare person who is exceptional. That person who you know is going to just move by everyone else, build him or herself an empire, and simply succeed. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet someone of this caliber only it was at the most unexpected of places; it happened at my dental office. Within minutes, it becomes quite apparent that Dr. Chiou loves being a Dentist. He gladly dives into in depth descriptions of invasive bacterias, xrayed anatomical structures, proper hygiene techniques and analysis of the most recent advancements in dental technology. When he's working his focus is impenetrable and its clear that he's a perfectionist who would be disturbed by results that were less than that. When you go to see Dr. Chiou, I'm quite sure that you'll see what I mean. In any game, there are those that watch, those that play, and those that are quite obviously the all stars. If he isn't one already, Dr. Brendan Chiou is bound to be an All Star. My only problem is that I can't hire him to work at my firm. Pros: Excellent Cons: none
