I would strongly warn against Z Chemist on 57th Street. I have never, ever experienced such unprofessional, rude and dangerous service from a pharmacy.

Before there was Sephora, there was Zitomer. You can get ordinary drugstore stuff here too (imagine, a world where you never, ever have to go to Duane Reade), but also high-end and hard to find skincare products. the prices are high, as reflects the nature of the store and its location (and you might find better deals at Sephora), but the shopping experience is grand.

Love Zitomer. It is a hoity toity pharmacy that's been on the upper east side of Manhattan since 1950. Zitomer's is a shopping experience with three shopping floors to indulge yourself in. There's even a separate store just for pet essentials and luxury goods.
You can get all the basic drug store items, but the best stuff is all the trendy, hip, must-have items that are often featured in lifestyle magazines.
My favorite items include luxurious candles (Seda from France), bath and body (Bliss, Diptyke, The Thymes) and hair products (Frederic Fekkai, Kent hairbrushes). Zitomer also has products for kids, men, even pets. Fabulous accessories like handbags, hair clips, jewelry.
This is a great place to get gifts for your friends and family--something for everyone. Shop till you drop should be their motto.
