This is my preferred Whole Foods, largely because the store is all on one level, making both intentional shopping and random browsing much, much easier. It also doesn't have near the traffic jams and lines that I've encountered both at the Union Square and Columbus Circle incarnations. For those of you unfamiliar with Whole Foods, it's often referred to as "whole paycheck" as it's easy to spend a lot of money there very quickly. That said, most of the store brand products are excellent and bargains besides, and with the pricier items -- the quality is great and you couldn't find it anywhere else (i.e., cheddar horseradish spread). The meat and fish counters are especially good, and check out the "two-bite" deserts -- brownies, pecan pie and more.

Incredible!
This is a modern, sleek destination in the middle of it all. You've come to expect a Heavenly Bed in Westins but this one has an executive section that has a bit larger room, not a bad deal in Manhattan, and breakfast. The subway underneath it makes low cost transportation easy. Of course there are cabs and town cars aplenty as well. Theaters are all around and there's even convenient pharmacies and outside food sources as well.
The gym was very good for a hotel, the breakfast at the club lounge aslo good. The room was modern, but felt slightly sterile because of the white everywhere.
we travel alot and i must say i have found no better~

Some places talk gourmet, act gourmet, look gourmet...but are they really gourmet? This place IS gourmet, even though it might not look like it at first glance. This is a simple store with no semblance of decor and a sometimes surly staff who are extremely knowledgeable. But understand that the food here is what matters, nothing else.
It is definitely on a smaller scale compared to other food shops, but the produce, cheeses, and pastas here are unbelievable. Cuts of cured Italian meats will probably never make it to your fridge, as you'll be sneaking a slice here and a slice there, until it's gone by the time you get home.

This has got to be one of the most civilized restaurants in the city. The service is totally professional without being pretentious, and although the space is small, I found the tables to be quite roomy. The food is "pure" -- despite the foams and furbelows, the flavors of the ingredients are allowed to shine through. My appetizer was a breakfast for the gods: a little cast-iron skillet containing grilled asparagus, a duck egg, black truffles, and parmesan toasts. This was followed by pristine lamb chops with a section of braised shoulder, with black trumpet mushrooms and tiny carrots. Supernal. However, you will pay for all this -- especially as the wine list is so high priced!

Shun Lee serves exceptional Chinese cuisine. Pricey but well worth it if you are near Lincoln Center. The food was superb and we enjoyed every bite. It was a little dark inside and the waiter spoke very little English. We attended a Chinese wedding there as well and was a treat indeed.

You can't really pin down what this food is, because they incorporate many cuisines: szechuan, cantonese, hunan and shanghai. The food is beautifully done, and that's just the regular menu. Take a look at the specialty menu, because it's no joke. One of the dishes (Beggar's Chicken) actually requires 24 hours notice, something to order when you're really trying to impress someone.
