This huge room with brass railing and red checkered tablecloths serves up a classic New York steak house experience. And, it's been serving it up for years. There's meat hanging in window and celebrity photos hanging on the walls. Located in the theater district, it's the perfect place when you want a great steak before a show. Visiting Gallagher's Steak House, you'll find a steakhouse that serves American especially known for steaks. Expect to pay over $60 per person.

Here you go, you are in new york city, a place with tons of steak houses and restaurants, so you go to another one. This one, if you ask me, is good, not fabulous mind you, but a nice attempt. With the palm, ruth chris, mortons, etc. there is so much competition for steak fans it is not funny. But this place is the real thing, and I would definitely reccommend it to potential customers as a place to out to and try on any night.

Forget PETER LUGER, that's for people who want to drink on expense accounts. Gallagher's is easily the best filet mignon - might be a tie with PALM, but Gallagher's atmosphere is much cooler.. Photos of race horses and forgotten boxers all over the walls. A former speakeasy during prohibition, and the bathroom attendant has stacks of all local team schedules. If you only have one meal in NYC - this should be IT.
