This has got to be one of the most civilized restaurants in the city. The service is totally professional without being pretentious, and although the space is small, I found the tables to be quite roomy. The food is "pure" -- despite the foams and furbelows, the flavors of the ingredients are allowed to shine through. My appetizer was a breakfast for the gods: a little cast-iron skillet containing grilled asparagus, a duck egg, black truffles, and parmesan toasts. This was followed by pristine lamb chops with a section of braised shoulder, with black trumpet mushrooms and tiny carrots. Supernal.
