I can't speak to the Carribean authenticity of Daphne's fare, but the jerk chicken and pork are the best I've had. I must also recommend the goat and oxtail. The veggie run-down is the real star -- I hadn't expected much, but it's an excellent plate of rice, beans, plantains and what tastes like a stewed cabbage salad: looks awful, tastes awesome. If the food turned south, I'd keep coming to Daphne's for two reasons: 1. The best scotch bonnet hot sauce I've ever had (spicy as anything, but with a nice sweet flavor) and 2. amazing home-made juice drinks and sodas. The ginger beer is the champ here, but you ought to try them all.
Pros: Inexpensive, Great home made soda, Good hot sauce

It is good to know that you can get good food at great prices. As one may very well know, New York City is an expensive town especially in the broadway district. If you have the time to (K)(prior to show time/3hours) and want a reasonablely priced bite to eat, Try Caribbean Spice. The Pumpkin Rice is a good choice along with the J-Chicken(Yum Yum), do not forget about the fresh fruit Rum-P (Don't DWI-MTA it).
Pros: Good Spicy Flavor
Cons: Long, Long wait

I've been going to the Hot Pot for years, have seen it's numerous upgrades in decor and have been very pleased with the consistency of the cuisine.
My favorite is the Curry Goat, it's tender and spicy without burning my sensitive American palate. The Red Snapper Escovietch, Curry Chicken and the Smothered Chicken are also standouts. The rice and peas are just sweet enough, the plaintains are fried just right and the cornbread tastes like mo! (some more) The Collards are nice and crunchy but need some salt.
The one down the service. They always scowl, never give eye contact, say please or thank you and they behave as if waiting on you is the LAST thing they want to do. I get take out and give them nice tips, so maybe they'll realize life doesn't suck, but it hasn't worked yet. Oh well, the food is always GREAT
Pros: Excellent Food, Affordable, Large portions
Cons: Server's Attitudes

First, the address is wrong on the site, it's on 346 W 53rd.
We went after a Broadway show and were the only customers there, but the restaurant was still lively with salsa music and friends or family of the restauranteurs were talking and drinking. We had the family salad ($9, enough for 4 to share) with a delicious house dressing of oil, vinegar, salt, and lime juice. They serve great standards of Dominican fare, like Mofongo, a ground up stuffing of plantains and onions. My wife had the special, El Papasito, that came with steak and onions, fried plantains, sweet plantains, and yellow rice. It was all delicious and filling. Portions are big, so you may want to split when you go. Prices are cheap. Entrees are mostly $9-$11, Seafood around $16. The only drawback is that the service is so slow. We were the only customers in there, but we waited about 15 minutes after finishing to get our bill. I hear that they do a lot of delivery, which is also slow, but the quality and atmosphere at such low prices are well worth it.
Pros: Delicious Food, Big Portions
Cons: Slow Service

If the thought of an authentically delicious, artery clogging Sandwich Cubano lures your taste buds, you must give this place a try. The prices are so low you will think they made a mistake at checkout. Don't bring a date here though, it is a most unattractive environment. Best bet is to sit outside in nice weather. Certainly worth a visit for the Cuban food lover in you. A true bargain!!
