In the NYU/New School district of copy shops and paper specialty stores like Kate's Paperie, Arthur's fits in nicely between traditional printer and paper-themed gift shop. They have an open, expansive browsing floor, filled with gift items, journals, frames, children's books, etc. but there is also a nice selection of art supplies and cards in the back. They also offer a full range of offset printing services and do custom framing and invitations. A nice alternative to Kate's, which has gotten pricey and stuffy.

...was pleasantly surprised. it doesn't look that nice from outside but once inside and UPSTAIRS it was great! the sangria was the best i've ever had. they put every fruit in it. $23 pitcher. they also have other portugese tendancies, meals come w/ vegetables and potatoes instead of the normal pasta but u can request pasta for an extra fee, $6. ... huge salads, we had chicken, veal and pasta, all 3 were AMAZING! the veal melts in your mouth and the vodka sauce was on point! we did the pri fix, a great deal, $24, not a selected menu, u can choose any of their chicken/veal/pasta dishes! dessert was unbelievable! we had mousse and midnight cake. huge portions~ prices are average, $12-18 meals. i'd def go back!!! they even gave us discount cards to come back again. smaller dining area, no good for parties of 8 or more.
Pros: sangria, veal, choc mousse

I threw my wife a surprise birthday party and needed a caterer. A friend referred me to Champignon. I told Jesse what foods my wife doesn't like and how many people would attend and he did the rest. It was a cocktail party and I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough food. Don't you hate when you go to a cocktail party and you leave hungry? Well there was so much food that people ate and drank and we couldn't finish everything.
The food was great (especially for cocktail party food) and plentiful, but what was excellent was the server that came. (I feel terrible, I forgot his name) This guy didn't miss a step. He made drinks, passed food, poured wine, CLEANED UP AS HE WENT!, brought his own ice tongs, asked me how he should dress, made sure I had a drink. He took down the garbage half way through and at the end and on and on. This guy really made the party flow and took so much stress out of the day for me.
Being an artist in New York City, budget was a big concern for me and I did get two other bids. What I really liked about Jesse was that, unlike the other two companies, who the first question was "what's your budget " and miraculously came in at a couple dollars from my number with no room for negotiation. Jesse asked how many people, how long, and other relevant questions, gave me examples of the food and gave me a price without asking the budget question. He's obviously been doing this a long time and is a good read of people.
This is my first time writing a review of anything but I just felt that I had to share my experience. I will absolutely use him again if the need arises and I recommend strongly!
Pros: service and value
Cons: none

Creative Edge NYC is the classiest operation in the city. No detail is too small or obscure for Creative Edge NYC. The food was fresh, delicious, and interesting without being fussy. It's easy to see why Creative Edge NYC is so in demand even in difficult economic times - they are simply the best. Carla Ruben makes you feel totally comfortable and confident that the event will be a success for all. Creative Edge NYC handled our son's Bar Mitzvah and it was absolutely the right choice.
Pros: fabulous, seamless, delicious, effortless
Cons: none

My husband and I eat at Fuji every week and it consistently delivers outstanding quality along with great service. We've tried many sushi places around the city and while many of them offer good sushi, they
typically do so at prices much higher than what you pay at Fuji. The spicy shrimp tempura role at Fuji is
particularly good, one of my favorites. I also really like the crab shumai, a menu choice that I rarely see in NYC. All of the servers are wonderful, always accommodating, and the owner is very friendly as well.
Pros: Food, service, ambience
