Chickpea is a great little place to hang out and eat great food! It's not very expensive and you can have falefel, shawarma, or their invention - the shawafel - and combination of falafel and shawarma. Everything is good! And they bake their own pita - so it's fresh and warm. There's seating like a counter along the front and then in the back there's a seating area for about 12 people at little tables. It's right near the Astor Place subway stop and it's always open!

One look at this magazine's cover and you can tell this is a magazine targeted for a man (the scantily clad women on the cover ought to tip you off). Beyond that, I'm a talk radio junkie over 30 who hears most of her new music on Grey's Anatomy (Snow Patrol is great!), but even so, I look forward to getting this magazine in the mail each month. From the letters to the editor, which show their tongue-in-cheek personality to their list of the 25 best..... each month, it's fun reading. It doesn't take that long to read either.

Sometimes when you can't think of something to buy for your sweetheart, you might consider a magazine that is geared towards an interest of theirs. My husband just received a subscription to an aquarium magazine by his brother-in-law because his brother-in-law knows how my husband loves his fish tank.
For a woman, it might be a subscription to a magazine like Country Living, Redbook, or Bazaar. Redbook magazine is an excellent choice for it has many articles pertaining to women products, articles, and fitness. There are articles on love and marriage (how appropriate for Valentine's Day), health and fitness, beauty, fashion, news, kids, food and style. The issues are bursting with ideas suitable for a woman in your life.
I know I have used my Redbook magazines to read exclusive interviews of famous people, ideas to end stress in my life, how to answer some of my kid's questions, lose weight, medical facts, and ways to love my man! The variety is endless when it comes to the Redbook magazine. Redbook magazine introduces me to a lot of new products on the market, where to find them, and what web sites to check out. It is a thorough magazine that is appropriate for different age levels.

In it's heyday, the Village Voice had liberal political clout and was a must read for anyone seeking intellectual cred or classifieds listing men and women seeking men or women. Personals have moved on to the web and been replaced in the back of the book by display ads picturing nearly naked men and women offering themselves for a variety of purposes. The Voice is now free, available each Wednesday evening all over Manhattan and while it's clout is questionable, it's listings are comprehensive, its articles are stimulating, it's critics are articulate and, hey, it's free.
