If you want high end then this place is for you. They have a large selection of gorgeous tiles in all types of materials and textures, I was in love with the glass tiles they sold which looked so much better than other stores I had visited earlier that day.
The customer service is impeccable and they will help you find what you need or what to achieve in terms of looks. Worth stopping in to take a look around.

Dry cleaners have a knack for destroying ties through overenthusiastic pressing, so you should really trust that pricey Hermès or any good tie to the only folks who do this all day long. Can you tell I've learned this lesson the hard way?
I found Tiecrafters’ through a friend who worked in the garment district experienced. This business has spot removing specialists who know how to deal with silk in all its fussy forms. Typically, they unstitch the back of a tie and flatten it for cleaning, then suture it back together—that way, the tie doesn’t get that mashed-down look. Ties are $9.50 and up; scarves, $23 and up; pickup and delivery is $7.50 each way. There’s a four-tie minimum to get the best price, so save up your stains.

If you live on the east side, this is a convenient storage and moving company to know about - if you are moving a full apartment or only want to store some pieces for a short while. They offer a full range of services around moving, including packing, cleaning, storage and the like. They showed up as promised to provide an estimate, and their mover people seemed strong and capable. They also suggested I plan for the move by packing as much as I could myself, to save some time costs. They will also take on moves in the city, out to the suburbs, or even across the country

I moved three times in the past year and have had major headaches from the first 2. I gave Scanio Movers a try after it was recommended by a friend.
From the phone inquiry, to the estimator, to the moving guys - every single one was courteous, professional, accommodating, and efficient.
Their rates are highly competitive and I I find that their pricing is very clear-cut and upfront. I've seen and heard a lot of other moving companies (that I'd rather not name) that hand out cheap quotes and in the end come up with a lot of bogus surcharges and extras which end up costing much more.
By far, this was the only move I had that was hassle and headache-free.
I would not hesitate to book their services for my next move and they have my highest recommendation.
Pros: Professional service, Efficient, Guaranteed pricing
Cons: None

I know of only a handful of truly vegan restaurants in the city, so finding this one was quite a surprise! Sacred Chow is a small but beautifully decorated place in the NYU area of the village. It has a very Asian/middle eastern feel, but the food is not like that at all. First, the lighting is subdued and beautiful coloured glass and metal lights hang from the ceiling. The tables are small, but comfortable, some with pillows on wicker stools, others with benches and a few traditional chairs. There's even a small fountain in the corner.
The food is pure vegan - healthy and delicious. They offer a 3 appetizer deal for $12. I tried the "western tofu" sandwich. It had thick slices of seasoned tofu, a dill "mayonnaise" spread and lettuce. The bread was whole grain, warm and crunchy. The dill spread (made from soy of course) was so delicious and did not taste at all like fake dairy. It was served with a sort of cabbage/fruit cole slaw. I didn't try dessert, but they all sound fabulous and I bet taste pretty much like the real thing too. I left very satisfied and my meal was $11 with tax and tip. I will be returning!

I'm amazed that Rainbow is in the neighborhood because the have such good prices. There is a large selection of everything from housewares to hardware stuff (in the basement) to cosmetics and stationary to dishes. It's fun to see the things they have on display for clearance. You can really get anything there. It's the place I like to go most to get anything I need for the home.
