We have been taking our doggy to Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital for 2 1/2 years and have been very very happy with the care. We have seen 3 different doctors and have been impressed with all of them. I have had to use their emergency pager system to contact a doctor after hours and have been very pleased with the rapid and compassionate response I've received from the doctors. I have only positive things to say about Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital!

My dachshund loves all of her toys from Trixie and Peanut and I love seeing the new toys that they bring out. I am constantly checking New Arrivals. The Haute Diggity Dog toys are among my favorites, as they are always good for a laugh and they are durable. They also make wonderful gifts! A new favorite is the collection of Woven Toys and I have my eye on the Woven Candy Cane for the holidays. I have never been to the NYC store, but I LOVE the website.
Trixie and Peanut is always the first place I look to for my little pup.
Pros: Excellent customer service, creative & unique toys!!!

I gotta say this place is great. The place is huge and when they took me to tour the area where my dog sleeps, I couldn't believe how clean it is. The kennels are HUGE. Even though I have a yorkie, she stayed in a kennel that was big enough for a 100+lb dog. When I used to go to another boarding place, they just dumped all the dogs in one room overnight. Oh happy paws even have over night security to monitor the dogs. I was gone for 2 weeks and expected her to come back all smelly like the other place, but to my surprise they washed her without charge. She seems pretty happy and healthy. I say she is healthy because they actually told me what her weight was when I dropped her off and what her weight was when I picked her up. I didn't even expect them to give me such details.
I really enjoyed having her there.
Pros: Doggy day care, boarding

We used Petaholics for the cat service when we went away. Jordan came over everyday to feed our cat and change the litter. I was happy with the service and we're going to use him again the next time we go away on vacation.

I just wanted to say how nice and helpful the people at The Poochie Place are. I wanted to bring my cat in for grooming. Unfortunately they no longer worked on cats. But they helped me by giving me info on a cat groomer. They were honest enough to tell me that they were not affiliated with that person and did not know the groomer but they would give me the info since they really did not know too many places that worked on cats. They also cared enough to request feedback from me so that they knew whether to keep recommending that person. Even though I did not get my cat groomed by them, their willingness to help me is commendable. If I ever get a dog or if I know someone who is looking for a groomer for their dog, I will definitely recommend that they try The Poochie Place.
Pros: nice people, clean place

Dr Skip Sullivan has always given my cats great care. One of my cats needed a dental cleaning but had a heart murmor - so I didnt want to put him under anesthesia. I actually got into a huge argument with the cat guy on the upper west side about it. Anyway - Dr Sullivan opened my cats mouth and chipped the tarter off himself and said there you go...done! Try and brush if you can but you dont need to put him under now.
Pros: reasonable, caring and knows cats
Cons: none

When we first got our Tibetan Terrier, Oscar we called a local groomer in Westchester and asked if they had experience with the breed. They said they did so we expected good results. Boy were we wrong! After asking a tibetan terrier breeder in NJ and another fellow TT owner where they recommend, both said, A Cut Above. One trip and we were hooked!! They do such an excellent job, we travel from Westchester to their 83rd street location.
As other reviews have mentioned, the dogs are never stressed and always come out perfect. You can really tell how much Ming and the rest of her staff care for the dogs. Oscar is always so excited to see Diana when he walks in.
If you want a perfect groomed and happy dog. A Cut Above is the place to go.
Pros: Friendly and talented staff

I have been a customer since we got our dog Pixie two years ago. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything is at the Paw Stop - the air smells fresh (when's the last time you experienced that at a NY doggy daycare) and there is no dirt, dust or mess to be seen anywhere. Staff members are quick to clean up after the dogs in the daycare room.
It's clear that owner Dan Rubenstein loves dogs and has a high level of commitment to providing good care for the dogs, good customer service for the humans, and to being a responsible business owner and neighbor. I've noticed that Dan and his staff are always on the lookout for new products and services to provide, and ways to support our community (such as their efforts to improve our local dog park).
Thanks to the obedience training Pixie and I did with Dan, I was able to better understand dog behavior, and get to know my own dog much better. Dan is often at the store when we visit, and I appreciate his availability to his customers.
The staff at the Paw Stop have been unfailingly kind and helpful. I see the occasional new face, but most of Dan's employees have been with him as long as I've been a customer.
I love that there is a huge plate glass window dividing the store and the daycare room, and that customers are welcome to either stop in to watch their dog play, or can watch their dog remotely using the webcam.
The highest compliment I can pay to the Paw Stop is that Pixie is always excited to visit. I feel confident that when she is there, she is with people who care about her, and she is having fun. It's wonderful to have the Paw Stop a short walk away, ready to answer our every need. Our neighborhood is very fortunate to have a business here that is truly committed to providing the best care for our dogs.
Pros: Caring owner and staff
Cons: None
