SCAM ARTISTS IN EVERY WAY! THIS IS THE WORST REAL ESTATE COMPANY! My friend and I met with them to look at an apartment and they lied to us. They charged us a $400 deposit to pocket money!Then they told us the apartment was rented and the money was not refundable!!! more

I worked with James Mercure. He's basically a professional scam artist. He listed an apartment as 15th st and 2nd avenue, when really he was just walking us over to Stuyvesant Town. I had seen Stuy Town already, and we had another viewing scheduled so we left. James preceded to berate us over text message and threatened us that if we rented behind his back he would send us an invoice for the brokers fee. He also accused us of lying that we had seen Stuy Town before. We had no interest in seeing Stuy Town and he was extremely unprofessional, even making derogatory remarks about our sexual orientation. I don't know about the other agents, but James Mercure was one of the worst brokers I have ever met. Do not work with him. more

WHAT A SCAM! We worked with Steven Owusu, who showed us an apartment Thursday night at 6PM. We had all of our documents ready and presented them to him back at their office. We told him we didn't want to let the apt. slip away, so to please submit our application immediately and let us know when it was submitted. Steven emailed us throughout the night until 1AM asking for last-minute things that should have been caught when we were in the office submitting the application (e.g., ""your offer letter isn't signed"", so I faxed it to them signed. ""Could you actually email it?"" asked Steven. What is one paying the broker's fee for if the agent is unable to scan something I faxed for his convenience?) My roommate asked Steven to confirm Friday morning that we were in fact first in line. Steven said ""As far as I know"" (...shouldn't you be able to call the landlord? All of our other agents were..) The application was submitted Friday after 12PM because Steven and his manager Dennis were completely apathetic about whether or not we got the apt. Needless to say, we did not get it. Nonetheless, our total of $200 application fee was taken (our credit reports were run [at a cost of $50 each] because Hecht did not check to see if we were first in line for the apt. So they threw away $100 of our money that they would not refund. The other $100 we are not getting back. Despite the fact that it was because of their laziness. You are better off working with essentially anyone else in the city. more

from the moment we walked in no BS, we got all the details from paperwork we will need to the harsh reality that no broker decides if you get the apartment or you dont, its up to the landlord and managing agent. so we came prepared after we saw the hecht group video (was mailed to us as a link on youtube) we applyed and got the best apartment we could find. (according to our budget) the Broker called us every 3 houes updating us with every single thing that was happening our friends moved to new york a week after us and had to chase thier broker to findout they were 3rd in line and didnt get the apartment. we reffered them later to hecht! more

Because of job reasons my wife and I moved from out of state with a very tight budget and absolutely no knowledge of the city or its Real Estate market. Our agent was extremely patient with all our questions and was able to find us the perfect apartment that exceeded our expectations! I highly recomend the Hecht Group!! more

Although they say ""NO FEE"", they charge you this weird ""Management fee"". Call you frequently until you decide to take one of the apartment, but no response after you decided. Friendly agent, but almost useless. more

My name is Mor. when I originally called Hecht I called about a 1 bedroom on the upper west side advertised by Ben it was a no fee, I was sure that when I would call I would hear the same story (this is rented and I have another one just like it with a fee) However that was not the case. I saw the actual apartment which was still occupied, I am glad to say my application is approved and I got the apartment with NO Fee and a great agent who knew every single thing about the process, I had no surprises and nothing came up in a mysterious way. The reason why I decided to give such a positive review is because I have been looking for a while and have not yet got such great service from a knowledgeable professional and courteous real estate agent. If you are looking for an apartment I really recommend this agency as your broker. more

I made an appointment with an agent of the Hgrny group when I showed up they actually waited for me in the conference room with paperwork as well as water, no joke. When I visited other brokers I was told to wait, here I was told to come in. well there was a huge list of apartments including the one I called for. I was shown previews on a huge screen walk through all apartments as well as location of all buildings. They pin-pointed my search in a matter of 25 minutes and instead of walking outside in the heat, we were able to determine what I need to look at. Was shown the actual apartment I called for no switch and bait ? was shown others which were Better. Glad to say got a great apartment! These guys mean Business in the most professional way I have seen yet. This is my 7th apartment in 15 years living in NY more
