Saint Marks Comics is one of the best comic book stores in the city. Besides having the recent stuff you can also find some older additions. They have the regular Marvel comics as well as anime and graphic novels. It's very disorganized so you will have to dig through back issues to find what you want.
They also have a collection of toys and action figurines.

St. Marks Comics is a good comic shop in th sense that it has a wide range of comics and a staff that tends to be knowledable about them, although Forbidden Planet is the best for that. On the down side, because of it's location on sSt. Marks all customers are assumed to be thieves from the moment they walk in, and so leisurely browsing can bfeel uncomfortable. Also I've heard repeated horror stories about how the owner treats his employees.

This is a nice small comic store is the East Village that sells recent comics and oldie comics for the comic book lover of all generations. Located right smack dab in the East Village they have been selling comic books for over 20 years.
The store is cramped and often disorganized but you can find some real scores if you can dig through the mess. They also sell action figure toys.

The store has all of the recent selection of comic books and some of the older more vintage quality titles. Whether you want to buy sometime or just want to see whats hot, this is aplce you should drop by if you are in the neighborhood.
