Jim Hanley's Universe is located in NYC near Madison Square Garden, and is popular with the tourists. There's always a huge influx streaming towards this place. Maybe that accounts for the lackof back issues available, but they are trying to fix that problem. If you are selling a good collection, they might offer you some good money for it. They carry everything from the two big publishers to all indepedent comic books. Lots of merchandise is readily available. There is also a lot of comic book signings from the many writers and artists who produce them. Even celebrities come by and grace their presence at this store. As you can imagine this place is packed as a result. It's a fun place to visit if you are in Manhattan and wish to experience something on a bigger scale. Definitely a treat.

I love Jim Hanley's because they sell everything from comics to books, statues, toys, and t-shirts. And it's not just mainstream stuff, they carry merchandise from indies and small press. It's a fun place to browse through because I always see stuff there I don't see anywhere else. The staff is knowledgeable and pretty friendly. Wednesday is the best day to shop there as it's new comic day and they often have signings with writers and artists. Definitely recommended to comic fans and pop culture enthusiasts.
Pros: Great selection, Open late, Friendly staff

This comic book store is the best! They used to have a smaller shop, but the new shop is much bigger and better. You'll find all the rare stuff here, like bone, which doesn't have too much readership. I'd highly suggest checking them out. They buy and sell comics, so just submit your list to the email address on the website or just go on down there and they'll look up the price list for you. It's that simple. Staff is pretty friendly and very helpful in getting the comic that you want. They also have some celebrity signings there too.

This has probably has to be one of the greatest comic book stores there is. It has so many things from T-shirts to journals. You are sure to find some interesting books in there. Sometimes there aren't issues of some comics, but that might not be their fault. Interesting toys and gadgets are included in their merchandise. Beware, there is an adult section near the back. It's embarassing when you accidently walk into the stuff.

These New York comic scene veterans carry just about everything comics related that is in print. Row after row of graphic novels, art portfolios, new comics and toys greet your eyes. The store is well laid out and it is easy to find whatever you're looking for. Not much of a back issue selection but they have pretty much everything else. The staff is knowledgeable but sometimes when it is crowded it is hard to get someone to answer your questions.
