Funny Business Comics in NYC is a dark and gloomy place. For a place that advertises itself as a comic book store, they certainly have more opera CDs than anything else. They do sell some comic books but mostly old, vintage type. Because the look of the place is a bit creepy, I wouldn't dedicate the time to put in a search. They used to sell a lot of new comic books but that changed and declined. I think the best thing that the store can do is change its name to reflect more of what they are actually selling.

Since my son started collecting comics a few years back I have been to pretty much all the comic stores in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and some in Paris and London and I have never seen anything like this place. They don't carry new comics and most of the store is opera CD's. I kid you not and the fellow working there doesn't appear to be very friendly. Thye do have some nice older comics but for the most part they are overpriced/

They have long given up on selling new comics and strangely enough the have slowly turned into an opera cd shop over the years. This makes for a strange mix and it seems that they really don't have any real interest in comics anymore. That being said they have some really nice back issues but they don't price anything cheaply so it's not likely you'll pick up a bargain here.

Smallish and kind of ratty this place is a real throwback. Strangely enough half the store is comic books the other half is opera records. try to figure that match up. You'd be hard pressed to find a bargain here but from timt to time you find something interesting as they have a nice selection of vintage comics. A bit of cleaning and a new coat of paint would help to elevate this place to oh lets say 1985 standards.
