I just got my first brazilian wax (actually my first wax ever) here and it was probably as pleasant as a brazilian wax can be. I had Roselie, who was very friendly and sweet and quick (thank God). It was not completely pain-free but the mild sting went away after about an hour. Definitely going here for my next wax. Pros: brazilian wax, friendly staff Cons: I had to wait a bit since the client before me took a while.

i have faithfully visited maria at maria bonita salon for over four years. i go for full body waxes every month. maria is by far the most professional and expert esthetician i have ever used. she is neither squeamish or assuming, i actually have fallen asleep during my waxing. obviously, not during a brazilian bikini- but the discomfort is quickly replaced with gorgeous soft skin. as my mother would say, "beauty is pain." gratefully with maria, it is minimal, quiet and comfortable too. I have been going to Maria Bonita Salon for a year now and thanks to everyone who wrote great reviews that made me try this place out. I had moved to the Upper East Side and needed a place that knew what they were doing when it came to a brazilian wax. This is by far the best...and I have been getting brazilian waxes for over 10 years. Maria is the only person I ask for each time and she is the best. She is quick and tries to make it as painless as a Brazilian wax can be. I recommend this place to anyone and rave to my friends back home on how this is the number one spot. Pros: Great service, friendly people, cool neighborhood Cons: None.

All thanks to Mariazinha, my lovely friend that has worked so hard for so many years in the salon business--can we say waxing business?--just to perfect her expertise in making all of us girls look prettier and sexier after a waxing session! I love it. I travel about 50 miles once a month just to see Mariazinha at this pretty salon on Prince street. What a location also! Even if I don't have time to do anything else during my trip, I am happy after 100 miles just for a waxing! But if you do have time after, you'll find yourself in the best location in the city. Get yourself a cup of coffee after that 15 minutes of waxing and go for a walk...and enjoy downtown! Mariazinha is exclusive, and I am always recommending her to friends. She is a hard worker, summer and winter. Whether she is feeling good or not, she is always there for you...not just as an excellent professional, but as a friend. I can't wait for the next visit! I decided to give it a try for the wax, and did it with Maria, she did an amazing job and didn't hurt, at least not the way I was expecting, very professional and on time, all of them. I also decided to go for Elvira and try the massage, and it feels like heaven, she's just great, great, it does feels like heaven. All good. Definitely worth it. Pros: good staff and service

This is the best place to get a Brazilian wax. I have been to a lot of other places and this is the best. I have seen 2 people here and my favorite is Regina, but they were both good. She is so friendly and nice, and makes the whole experience so comfortable. She walks you through everything and lets you know when it may hurt a bit and when it won't as much. She does such a thorough job - i'm always extremely happy with my results! Pros: Clean, Friendly Staff, Thorough/Great Work/Results Cons: Sometimes they are backed up & my appt. is late
