This is a trendy mediterranean restaurant and lounge. The food is above average but my favorite aspect of the place is the cushy seating and fun cocktails which makes this a great place when you want to grab a quick bite to eat and then have a few drinks with friends in a hip setting.

What a fun place to eat! This cute little restaurant is perfect for a girls night out! It's a little cramped inside but not uncomfortable. The prices are reasonable and the menu actually has a lot of choices. The appetizer portions are huge, so they're perfect for sharing or even having as your meal. We tried one of the cheese fondues and it was really amazing! They give you a bunch of different foods to dip (veggies, shrimp, chicken, etc.) and it's delicious and fun! Unfortunately, we were too full to order dessert, but I can't wait to go back and try some chocolate fondue!

Chumley's is just one of those bars that you have to go to at least once. If for nothing else, than to pay homage to the origin of the term "86" and the era of the speakeasy.
Chumley's was once a haven for Village writers. You'll see their pictures on the wall and read about it in guidebooks from here to next Sunday. You may not find the same kind of crowd in Chumley's today (change writer to Ivy and mini-Ivy grad), but you will guaranteed some great draft beer, plenty of seats (but they fill fast), good pub grub and a dog or two (yours is welcome).
Don't expect fast waiter service for food - they can get caught up and forget about you. Just sit, be patient, and take in the ambiance.

this bar is about 30-feet wide, 60-feet long with a remarkable 25-feet high ceiling in one of the most prestigious and convenient locations in New York City – the Grand Central Station.
Cognac and single-malt scotch are the drinks of choice here. Even in New York City, there are few places where patrons can order an 18-year-old Macallan single-malt Scotch or - better yet - a $175 glass of Remy Martin Louis XIII. However, the bar also offer “regular” drinks and beer.
Further, an impressive list of vintage cocktails and house specialties set the space apart.
The establishment is frequented by prosperous-looking Manhattanites who know how to have a fun and classy time.

The knitting factory has had lots of good shows (not only rock, but other stuff, too) for many years. There are often multiple shows on multiple floors on any given night. It's really pretty small inside, so you will get to see the bands up pretty close. There are conveniently located bars, so you never have to get too far away from the action for a refill.

This is pretty good-sized bar with reasonable drink prices. The front of the place is a standard bar with a bunch of people crammed in pretty close, but the back has a whole bunch of tables to allow for conversation or hanging out. So whatever you want, as long as it can be found in a dive, can be found here. It's pretty standard fare to find a ton of NYU people here.

When we're out, about, and in doubt, my friends and I will stop by Belmont Lounge for a drink and good music. The bartenders are great and the DJ has been known to convert the back lounge into a makeshift dance floor, thanks to a great mix of pop, hip hop, and reggae music in the late hours. Add the back garden, which is popular with smokers, and it satisfies most in the crew. The downside as mentioned before are the individual bathrooms, which cause long, sometimes tortuous waits.

I love Au bar. They have comfortable booths where you and your friends can have a private party in between hitting the dance floor. Lots of Europeans make the scene here and you have to dress up a little bit and it's expensive still it's a nice place to be.
