We went in to wait for our party to assemble before a Saturday Broadway matinée - we just sneaked right in after having bought tix on Times Square. The place was awesome! Healthy selections (got my carrot juice! Yeay!), FREE tea/coffee AND juice or cocktail after 11 am; excellent bread! If you are careful about menu selections, you can't beat their prices! I mean, my friend got fresh coffee, a Bloody Mary, and a fancy clam chowder (clams come on a plate, and the waiters pour bouillon over it at the table) - all for $8 total! Omelets are fantastic, too. I can't believe that price/quality in the middle of Manhattan!
The waiters were nice, if a bit hassled - but then, the place was overcrowded the entire 2.5 hours we spent there.

I have been to Blue Fin several times and have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, the fish is always fresh, and the menu is very creative. Stylish decor and great atmosphere make dining at Blue Fin an always pleasant experience. I love the tuna tartar and scallion appetizer! I love their bread and flatbread. I love their desserts! In fact, I don't think I've had anything there that I didn't like. Moderate to expensive prices - it is worth it!

Blue Fin is disappointing. Its staff is curt, its food is average, and its prices are entirely unwarranted. Only the whole lobsters are excellent, but so are most lobsters, and at Blue Fin you have to deal with prima donna waitresses and mediocre starters. If you must go, splurge on the Blue Fin martini. It’s a charming (if potent) blue drink with a Swedish Fish at the bottom.

An attractive after-work, pre-curtain the all-glass corner bar with its view of Times Square. Fruity Blue Fin cocktails. A more intimate atmosphere on the second floor's darker bar, with its lower ceilings and live jazz. Sushi can be ordered at either locale. And the huge & beautiful staircase. Great Pick-Up Scene. Impress your date, it can be crowded.
