Yesterday, Sunday, my best friend of eons got married. Of course as the Maid of Honor I had to find a place to bid farewell to her single-hood. China Club has been around for a few years now and it hasn't missed a beat. GREAT music, decent priced drinks for a club in the heart of NY, mixed crowd... The bouncer was so nice he let us all cut the line!! PLUS we didn't pay a door fee b/c we were on the velvet list. Forget about what those lousy comments say...round up your favorite people and take a trip to China!

This club was my worst club experience ever. After finding them while searching for salsa clubs, I called to verify that they were going to play salsa on Friday 3-27-09. They said that their second floor was the floor for the salsa dancing and that they would be playing salsa. When we arrived, we only heard pop or old R & B music, so I asked again, is there a separate room that plays salsa. They told me yes. So I paid the $25 for me and $20 for my girl. When we got inside, we found that the main dance floor was on the second floor and the only other dance floor was for a private party. On the main dance floor, they were not playing any salsa. We stayed for about an hour and only heard old r & b, disco and pop. We tried to get a refund since we were lied to, but they would not refund our money. Since I like Hip Hop and R & B too, we thought we would stay but couldn't bear the crappy live performance they had. It was a total bust and I felt robbed.
Pros: Near Time Square
Cons: They lied and cheated me out of $45

This place was off the hook to say the least. The biggest club I've ever been in. It had to be at least 3 floors and looked completely amazing. Every time I turned around another famous person was knocking into me with no body guard in site. I felt like I was at the grammy awards after party. I was having such agood time I don't even remember how much the drinks were but I know I had alot of them. The whole theme of the club is asian and i loved it.

This used to be a good spot for dancing, but with the type of people who show up now, it's horrible. I had to pass through a metal detector to get in? Since when do people have to go through airport security to get into a club? It's definitely the wrong crowd that has entered into this place. I'd definitely take your friends, and go somewhere else. The drinks were horribly done, and the people there were rude. Food was also very bad as well. What's left? Nothing. So take your time and go somewhere else. You'll definitely be wasting your time if you stay here at the China Club.
