I love when Spring and Summer role around because it means I get to spend time on 230 Fifth's spectacular roof deck. Their rooftop Bar is the largest in the entire City and the view is breath taking. Don't get me wrong, I come here during the winter months too. The lounge is sprawling and fabulously beautiful. The windows spread from floor to ceiling providing a 360 view of the city. The Staff is friendly and beautiful. The drinks are made to perfection, and the food is delicious! I come here for all my swanky occasions!! The group of all white ladies who were similarly dressed, apparently took up less room than our mixed group. Verdict: They're not as friendly and evolved as they pretend to be. And if they have not let people in for "dress code" or "guest lists" or "needing to buy a bottle", don't all upscale places and in larger amounts? 230 Fifth is honestly one of my favorite bars in New York. This upscale bi-level lounge inhabits the enclosed 20th floor and beautiful open-air rooftop garden of the address. Being mere blocks from the Empire State Building, this amounts to 230 Fifth offering by far the best view of any rooftop bar that I've come across in Manhattan. The music and decor are upbeat, fun, and trendy. The crowd at 230 Fifth is varied in personal style, age AND ethnicity, and for the most part very charismatic and social. Worried that it's officially fall and you're going to freeze in the name of trendy rooftop socializing? 230 Fifth makes very stylish red fleece hooded robes available to patrons, at which I am shocked at how many New Yorkers actually willingly wear. However, I'll give it a plus for its rooftop because it gives you room to breathe when you're drenched in sweat of your own and sweat from people one floor down. I picked up a drink for myself and a friend at the bar, to find out 3 days later I was charged $5.00 more than what I paid. Yes I was furious at the incompetent bartender or whoever added an extra $5 to my bill. Good thing I've taken care of that, but I am still upset about the trouble I had to go through. Pros: Rooftop Cons: Over charged my bill!

Also making a reservation is apparantly very complicated. Didn't have any issues with pony-tail bouncer, but then again, my group was all white..
