Veniero's is the classic top-rated bakery in NYC. It is always packed and it can be a significant wait sometimes after taking a number. The seating section is also very busy and loud. Overall though, Veniero's is still tops for me in terms of NYC bakeries. Little Italy bakeries ain't got nothing on Vaniero's!

Used to be THE favorite place to get your birthday as a kid, Veniero's has amazing desserts and wonderful Birthday cakes. Very old school Italian desserts, I highly recommend the cheesecakes and canolli.. leave your gun at home. Service isn't so great since they are so busy but its got good energy and nothing beats their sweet cream.

Veniero's is one of the best pastry shops in NYC, and I live right by Little Italy. Sometimes I find myself wandering here after a late-movie or dinner, to get desserts I didn't even know I was in the mood for until I happened to be on 11th St. There is almost always a long line, so you have to wait until they call your number to place your order, but let me tell you, it's well worth the wait. They have the best fruit tarts and their individuals cheesecakes are like like individual pieces of heaven. Although I prefer to get my tiramisu from Sambuca's, Veniero's sure knows how to make a mean tart.

This is quite a good pastry shop but not the only one in NYC. They are famous and have a lot of history but I really think they are quite overrated. Friends raved about their cannolis but when I finally tried them, they were only average. It's a great place to take friends and to hang out though -- it's spacious and has a great atmosphere, which I think adds to my friends' high praise for their pastries.

This is my favorite Italian bakery. It is just heaven when you sink your teeth into a piece of cheesecake or tiramisu. If you are on a diet I would not recommend this place. Everything is just soo good, you wouldn't be able to stop your self. but be prepared to take a number and wait for your turn. It is especially a nightmare if you go during holidays. The line just wraps around the corner, no joke.

I found out about this place years ago. A college friend took me there and I have been going there ever since. The ambiance is good sometimes noisy. If you ordered from the front desk don't expect to get a seat at a table. Get a table first and enjoy the dessert and cappucino then order for take home. I think it is a policy of theirs that way you need to order from their menu and not eat from your pastry box. I love the fruit tarts. I usually get 2 lbs at a time. Over the years the price is increasing. I used to pay $7.50 per lb now it is $10.50 per lb of miniature pastries. Don't expect each tart to be perfect but the taste can't be beat.
