Rocco Pastry Shop is a wonderful bakery in Greenwich Village. Go for the Gelato. Or the Cannoli's. Or the cookies. Heck go for anything in Rocco's. It's all good and very Italian. The staff is also very friendly and the store is always clean and smells oh so good.
Come for the baked goods.
Leave with an extra five pounds.

On one of the warmest March 11th's in history, we stopped in for a gelato. The selection was limited (must be selling like, well, gelato on a hot day) so I had stracciatella (if you think that's the correct spelling, I have ocean front property for you in Omaha). It was quite good with chunks of chocolate crunch in the vanilla cream. Served in a sugar cone for only $2, this was a very refreshing treat.
Not the best (that was in Florence) I have had but pretty good.

I haven't tried the pastries at Rocco's in quite some time, but the espresso drinks are great. They know how to serve a good cup.
I don't like to sit in Rocco's (the metal and the lighting just don't vibe with me), but every once in a while I will rest my dogs here with a cappuccino.
The bathroom is clean and I am not afraid to use it (a rare find in this part of town for me).
