I registered both at Babies 'R' Us and Buy Buy Baby. While the former has just about anything you'd need, the latter carries higher end brands,offers more of an assortment, and a more extensive collection within the major brands. I have only shopped at the Buy Buy Baby store located on Central Avenue, Scarsdale, New York and my experiences have been only great. While the registry is imperfect - items become discontinued quite often and not all things online are available in-store, I would recommend this store. They have the best stroller selection and are so well organized, in general, that everything becomes so appealing. On numerous occasions I've purchased small items that I really didn't need, but had to have. I love both stores for different reasons. But the reason I return to Buy Buy Baby is it's interesting selection of goods.

Buy Buy Baby scares me (and what's with that name anyway? It sounds like they sell babies). I had to go in there recently to buy a baby monitor and was quickly overwhelmed -- that's good, in terms of their having lots of choices, but the place isn't organized well, and products are cluttered. The staff isn't helpful. I'd only go here if you know what you want and are confident in your ability to get in and get out.

This is the other large baby emporium located within Manhattan. While I prefer Babies R US, this pot has a better toy collection and a more thorough approach to furniture. The layout is a bit strange. There is a large staircase and small elevator. SInce most customers will have strollers this doesn't really make sense. The staff sense to be disgruntled and the store usually looks a bit dirty. They do have a breastfeeding room (again dirty) with a tattered but comfortable rocking chair. The bathrooms were also grimy. On the plus side, they have all the name brands in furniture and a decent selection of clothing on the first floor.

I registered here and did not feel like the service was the best. The selection was only okay. The online selection was terrible. We live in a world where we frequently make purchases online and it is very hard to do so at buy buy baby. One day a product might be available online and an hour later it is not. Also, many products were unavailable at stores. One day my registry was just "gone" and the staff had no way to explain it. They were able to get it back but still, that should not happen. I will say that when prodcust were actually able to be bought (which was rare) it did come off the registry effectivaly and I did not receive doubles. In my opinion, register somewhere else.

The most annoying thing about BBB is probably the other mothers and mothers-to-be. But this is not the fault of the store, obviously. The store is conveniently located and very large, especially by NYC standards. With three floors of baby goods, this is just the place to get your fix. They have a registry system, which there always seems to be a wait to get to. The prices seem to be in line with other retailers for most products. The store is well merchandised and the staff is almost always friendly. The bathrooms are usually a disaster. This location doesn't stock much for a toddler - this is basically your newborn / infant supply store.

My wife and I have used this store for so many baby gifts, I have lost count. They have everything. They let parents choose certain items on a gift registry, which they keep online and in the stores. You name it, and chances are that they have it: Toys, clothes, saftety devices, furniture, etc The stores themselves can be crowded, but are more convenient for returns than using on online-only retailer. This store is located near the subway, which makes it easy to get to and from.

Well, the sales people are snooty and snotty. The prices are outrageous. They carry much of the same items that Babies R Us and Toys R Us has but sadly they think they're special because their prices are far higher. They also give grief about honoring coupons. I was pretty ticked off and ended up leaving without buying anything. I think this place is just meant for uppity upper class women who like to feel "priviledged"
