One of the "must dos" for every native New Yorker is to skate at this rink, in the evening, under "The Tree" when it snows in NYC.
This has got to be the most romantic setting in the city, and while it is costly to rent scates and might even hurt the first few times you fall, there is no experience like it for a couple in NYC.
Take your honey, whether you skate or not, down to the rink in the snow at least once. You can stand up top and watch, and snuggle warmly in the shadow of The Tree and enjoy the lights and the laughter and the music.
A "must do" item for anyone visiting NYC.

The group lessons have been really been helping me to improve my game. Depending on the people that are in the classes it can be a lot of fun, the instructers are super helpful and not bad looking. I had to make sure I registered early but it has been worth it.

This is a fun place to relax and have a good time with people. They feature everything from arcade games to games that dispenses tickets for prizes. The prizes are subpar but fun to get nonetheless. The real thrill of the games is the will to win more and more tickets. That can get kind of addictive to keep wanting to hit the jackpot for a certain game.
Oh, and this place also has Laser games of course. This is held is a room with Black Lights so the lasers become visible. Make sure you don't wear white, or else you'll glow like a light bulb.

More
Roosevelt Island Racquet Club has some of the best tennis facilities in the area. The tennis bubble is fully air conditioned(and it actually works) and the locker rooms and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The courts are clay, which is MUCH better than traditional hard courts. The summer program for kids is also very good. The staff is knowledgable and you will defintely improve your game. The club is conveniently reachable by both the F train and the tram.

If you visit New York you can't skip the trip to Ellis Island Museum. The whole place is full of history and we spent about 3 hours walking around learning interesting things about the immigration to America and the start of our country. Since most if not all Americans have ancesters who came through Ellis Island on their way to America, the museum holds special meaning and in the great hall you can feel the energy and hope that drove those millions to come to a new world. Fascinating bit of American history.

If you do have two hours to kill, the view from the observatory is great - I could even see my home on the upper west side. Times Square and the major NY areas look amazing from up that high. However, I went with my family in November and it was downright freezing out there and after waiting so long we only stayed a few minutes. It's all about the experience though right? I recommend not going on a weekend (let alone a holiday weekend!) or at night and you have a good shot of getting up there in a short period of time.
