The favorite American staple is a Bacon and Cheeseburger and fries. If you want a really good one then I recommend it the Corner Biestro in Manhattan. They make great burgers, chilis and fries. The crowds are fairly large and the place has great atmosphere. I often go with friends when I'm in the mood in for a really good burger. Great food and great prices.

If you can manage to get a table, the Corner Bistro is the perfect location when you want a beer and a burger and don't want to think too much about it. The bar itself is narrow and the traditional dark, indestructable wood interior common to any other non-discript pub in the known universe. The TV's above the bar are always tuned to some sporting event. And the line is always long which is the only downside. If you're willing to wait or you manage to get out early in the evening, its well worth the trip. Don't expect anything fancy, just a good burger, a cheep beer, and some fries.

because they understand that when you want-no-need a burger, that a - gasp - GOOD burger needs no adornment or accoutrement other than maybe the norm(cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato or bacon). They make their fries PERFECT here (crispy and hot- which I normally have to ask for) and God help me, their beer is inexpensive, too (be careful of that).

well, here it is cheap burgers which are friggin' great and cheap mcsorleys on tap - what else can you ask for... right in the heart of the meat district. They use a broil and slow cook method - again, the perfect burger. The bun is small to bring out the burger. Simple but unreal! Try it now! The tap beers are fantastic as well - get two at a time, just like on 6th street. Just small mugs. Burgers served on a paper plate with small pickle slices. Just the way I like em'.... fries too.

Tucked away in a corner of the West Village is one of the best burger places in New York. Huge burgers, great fries, ridiculously cheap beer, and it's open until very late at night for those post-party munchies. It can get pretty crowded from 7-11, so be prepared to wait in line for a table, but remember you can always eat at the bar if you get too hungry.

i just can't say enough about Corner Bistro's burgers (the Bistro burger with bacon/cheese is the best). I know that everyone else says it's good - but they are all telling the truth. Sure, there are better burgers out there somewhere but not for only $4. It's also in a fun neighborhood and Magnolia Bakery (best cupcakes ever) is just a few blocks away.
